Yeah, we've been over that. He refuses to. He says it isn't worth his time. Its where 99% of the "flaming" came from.

If FFXI never existed? I still would have never played an MMO. Probably be less sober and have watched more movies. Probably would have had a gf at one point, but thats arguable and for another discussion on another thread.

you know what I think? I think that Dark needs to stop posting. period. Everytime I try to read one of his posts, my brain makes it's own interpretation of what he's saying and I'm left dumbfounded.

As far as the main topic goes, I used to play Star Wars Galaxies long before I started FF11. I had a lot of fun with it until SoE nerfed it. They lost their main fan-base, including me.

On-Topic: I'd probably be playing more Single Player games. I'd have F.E.A.R finished by now, bought and read the other half of books from The Sword of Truth series, maybe seen a few more movies.

Well, there are many things they did that people got sick of.

One of them was the combat upgrade. Before, the game was more turn-based and you basically had a queue for commands. After the CU, the game is reduced to how many times you can click the enemy. So basically, you click the enemy to shoot it, and you can pretty much shoot without your gun getting overheated. In short, the game got reduced to a button-masher.

Another thing they REALLY messed up was the job system. There were a 33 professions to choose from, some of them being a commando, bounty hunter, pistoleer, etc. I myself was a bounty hunter and pistoleer, and I enjoyed it a lot. As for the jedi profession, you had a gather certain items and master some professions in order to become one. Becoming a jedi took a long time for people. However, after the upgrade, the game was reduced to 9 professions, including jedi. So that means that all the grinding the previous jedi did was for nothing and all the cities all swamped with newbie jedi.

I was a master pilot, got a millenium falcon-type ship and had a lot of fun w/ the game. However, the game's really unbalanced, and since all my friends left, I bid my farewell to the game.
