Re: I declare jihad on FFXI

    Er, that's not exactly true.

But there's no need to relate Islam directly to "declaring a jihad."

Please be a little more careful in both the game and in the forums in the future. A lot of people can take offense to a thread title like this.

      Harassing, tormenting, intimidating, pestering, obstructing, taking advantage of, or any way hurting or damaging other users or any third parties or their properties utilizing the PlayOnline Service;

Let’s take a look at this.
The GM pulled you out of camping Behemoth’s domain, thus pestering you from enjoying the game. If the GM did this repeatedly then he is considered pestering you.
The GM pulled you out of camping Behemoth’s domain, thus obstructing you from enjoying the game.
The GM was taking advantage of his powers by pulling you from camping Behemoth’s domain.
The GM hurt you emotionally by appearing before you, and thus caused a inherent fear of all GM’s and anyone wearing a red armor.

Too bad GM’s aren’t bound to their own agreements. Or are they? Are they using POL to access FFXI? Or some other program, if their using another program, did they modify their program to circumvent the security set in place by POL?

Sorry I’m bored, my network printer @ work is down, and they are going to take a few hours to fix it.

You are in for a rude awakening, my friend. Once you experience the game more, you will see this game is quite the opposite. What Kerrigan said is nothing compared to the other things you'll see in Jeuno.

Which is another reason I don't see why some posters want to get on a high horse and start giving her speeches on morality, as if they've never violated the ToS. I don't think Kerrigan is debating wheter or not she broke the rules, just simply venting on how it sucks that she was the one singled out.

It's a double edge sword... I'd like to say that it sucks that you got jailed, because it does. It also sucks you lost your camp spot etc.

But on the same note, stupidity pisses me off. My LS doesn't allowing swearing in LS. I'm glad. It means most of the people I play with are mature.

But.. on the other hand, this was just a rap song. I can understand it's contexual value. It's sort of fun to incorporate pop culture into a game sometimes. Brings a sense of "reality" back to it.

But on the same note, I got annoyed with the random shouting in Jeuno too. But I just ignore it.

Calling a GM? That was overkill. Someone has it out for you. I'm sorry you had to go through that.

But on the other hand, try to handle yourself more in a mature fashion from here on out. What you say, how you act, and how you go about doing it REALLY DOES reflect how others are going to view you...

          Sad but true

Before I continue, I would like to say that: "Omniblast, you know the answer to your own questions. "

As I have said before, you got caught and they didn't. A cop on the freeway would give you the ticket anyways even if you were amongst an entire freeway full of those whom have been speeding past the speed limit.

Also, don't try to report someone else just because they reported you. When two users report each other constantly, guess what a GM does?
            Answer:

They roll their eyes, sigh, and then warn, suspend, do what the rules says to whom they have caught and can confidently say they have violated the rules, and move to the next person. No one wants to put up with childish behaviors of a reporter, but they are bound to enforce the rules and when someone complains, they are more or less forced to enforce the rules. (Not-withstanding any rules abusive reports)

Remember what ESRB rating FFXI uses, and /shout or /say according to the rating and you will be okay. If FFXI had a AO (Adults Only) rating, you could have screamed all the profanities you want and they would not care a least bit. But FFXI has a different rating and they have to enforce those ratings in a public /shout or /say. Anything you /tell, /party to another person, they could care less.

I know it is rather harsh, but think of another way to plot against the idiot reporter. The last thing we need to do is tie up the GM handling two users when they can better spend their time getting rid of those whom RMT.

One of my friends that I met at Fan Festival said that they did that.
Player A cussed at Player B
Player B called GM and told Player A that he called GM
Player A called GM that Player B threatened him by calling GM

GM warped Player A to jail and gave him a warning and a suspension.

I guess we figured out what happens when your 2nd person to call GM, you lose.

Rule of thumb, if you think someone has violated the POL, don't diss them, call the GM. First one to call wins.

                  Tips:

If you don't like shouts, turn the filter on.
Configuration > Chat Filter > Shout (On)

If you don't like to see profanity, turn on swear filter.
Configuration > Global > Profanity Filter (On)

                  Am I missing anything else?

                    Tip #3

If everyone in Lower Jeuno shout is acting like a moron, don't join in.

If a bunch of strangers jumped off a bridge, would you jump too?

I hate it when others give this as a salution....I should not have to filter anything because of some morons..... if you are breaking the TOS..I report plain and simple

I have cuss filter off because its ok to throw one or two in normal chat, and I dont want it cencered, because it looked stupid, but when you act like a moron in shout/say, you get reported.

and to hell if I turn off shout, yeah it gets anoying, but then I miss out on some of the important stuff being tossed in shout.

act somewhat adult and you should never have problems, but act childish and do something stupid, well you get the point

Being sent to jail isn't a big deal, but I think I do get banned if I get sent back one more time.
I like Rap and im not a gilbuyer ^^, but I know a few and SilentLine is definately not a zerg LS.

I was in a chat LS that didn't allow swearing. Most people ended up getting so agitated that they couldn't swear they did a big "F(*& YOU!!!" to the LS leader, and promptly left.

Now, I'm in an LS that allows swearing. Nobody really swears in it. The only time that really anyone swears is during certain CoP missions (myself included, especially during the Airship bcnm ; ; )

Weird how it works like that.

I'm sick of reading people agreeing with me then others saying we're wrong..
this is just as stupid as people complaing about howard stern or TV..

no one will ever agree and I'm sorry I brought it up.

My linkshell doesn't allow anything worse than the occational Damn or Hell. We've never had one person coose to quite because they aren't allowed to swear. In fact we've only ahd one person say that it sucks that we don't allow swearing. Most people say they appreciate it since they don't like swearing either. but of course we make the basic rules of conduct very clear before we hand people a pearl, andif they had a problem with it, they just don't join us after all.
