I believe it's used to gain access to Diabolos on one of the CoP missions, I personally am not that far into CoP; I couldn't say for sure, but if I really wanted to know I could look it up.
That's correct; you need either a carmine chip (drops from snow/frost lizzies in pso'xja), cyan chip (diremites in pso'xja), or grey chip (mimic in pso'xja in certain areas of pso'xja). It is also used in The Road to Aht Urhgan. You need one of each chip for that, which lies as an alternative to the other items used to complete the quest, such as coffer key, subjob items, testimonials, etc. You can read up on the basics of the chip here. :3
edit: And a 53 RDM should have the resources to do basic research into the item. You know, somepage. ;D
From what I notice, only the more... new members tend to be the flame-happy ones, flaming those who did nothing to merit the flame. Only in situation of lacking common sense (example: someone asking what a carmine chip is for, when they have a level 53 RDM), should a flame be used, I believe. Otherwise, people on that board are very.... harsh on eachother, yes.
But general rule there is ignore the flamers, think before you post, and don't bother with Rambus or Eldesomething (ESPECIALLY Rambus). Follow those rules, and you'll be fine.
Well, I don't know what a Carmine Chip is.
And I don't like to say names often, like some people always saying they know one is a gil seller. ~.~ But to not "counter" everything you said... there's a lot what you call "kids" on KillingIfrit.. and the OMFG ROFLMAO 1337 LOLZ is one thing, funny and a bit weird from one way, but they always trying to be right sigh ~.~ and they know everything. But hey! Some of them are kids, some of them emo and some tards. Can't deny their existance, all you can do is either /pcmd kick them or /blist, and that always works.
I posted two innocent posts on alla the other day the one about harrassment in the game got flamed lol. It strikes me as annoying how people turn forums around on there to be mean. I like these forums because there is not flaming, plenty of info etc. However, though the forums suck on ki and alla I like there menus and things you can get info on.
I only use Killing Ifrit for the info in their Database cause I've tried posting on there but it would be taken and made into a flame thread or nothing at all would happen lol and i mean no views for days lol.

Uh, no way. The flamers tend to be the more "seasoned" of trolls on that board. I think, in the end, everyone there has been guilty of either lighting up the insult briquettes or fanning the flames even higher at least once a week.
If you meant new members as in newly created account, 50% of those belong to the regular members who wish to add drama as anon. Even the names they give their anon avats resemble insult and childish toilet humor.
I believe the average age of KI posters to be about 16 or so, give or take a few change of Pampers. It only makes sense considering the garbage that gets spewed there 24/7. I gave up using that as a resource site due to the noise and having to wade through useless posts after useless drivel to find what I need.

General rule of thumb is to only lurk and not post. Once you place a post, you're painting yourself as the forum's donkey of the minute, only to be harassed and assaulted until the next newly registered donkey posts somewhere else.
