Listen to the recording of the broadcast there.

Thanks to RMT existing, those in-game items can now feasibly be considered to have real monetary value, and can thus be considered taxable income, even if you don't participate in RMT. Just having a mob drop an item could be counted as you getting income, and thus be taxable. Hope they never get the means to enforce an idea like that.

thats the most idiotic thing ive heard all day. trust me, ive heard quite a few idiots today. this one takes the cake.

thats like saying if you found a pair of shoes in the park, those can be taxible as income too since you could sell them? no sense what so ever.

I thought you lived in the states Jei. Anyways, its BS. Selling ingames items goes against the ToA which can be upheld in a court. Like meeyutu said, even though prostitution is illegal, thats like saying you could be taxed for how much money you could make if you whored yourself out. Hell, I don't get taxed for my tv's, my bed, my pc, any of my consoles, crap I don't think I even pay taxes on my car since I payed it off. Seriously, I see this being easily enforced. >.>
