    Karma, does it exist?

    Lately, I've noticed a rising stigma against other people in Final Fantasy XI. Everytime you see somebody camping an NM, they're botting. And lately, if somebody gets an HQ staff, or a Vermillion Cloak, they're automatically labeled gilbuyers by other people. People are emitting very negative energy in the game lately. Which is why I want to share this little story with you that makes me feel very good about Final Fantasy XI. I have a BRD frend in my HNMLS who wanted a Sha'ir Manteel. So instead of fighting Vrtra (>.>) I tell him about the subligar desynth. He didn't know about it, and was very pleased to hear he could get it for relatively cheap. The problem was, he didn't know anyone with 95+ Clothcraft or Goldsmithing. Luckily, I did. A friend of mine has 100+3 Clothcraft and Goldsmithing on two different mules. She has been trying to make an HQ manteel forever now, so I made sure that the BRD in my HNMLS knew that she wasn't responsible for any breaks, and if she HQs, she gets to keep, and he'll get the NQ manteel she's been using.
    A few days later, she's ready to synth this for him. So they meet in Bastok while I'm in sky in a party. All of a sudden I get a tell from him, that the subligar broke. I felt really bad for him, but he understood that my Cloth/Gold friend wasn't responsible for the breaks. I felt kind of bad the rest of the day, and went to bed a few hours later. The next time I see my little BRD friend, he's sporting a manteel. I asked him how he got it. My Cloth/gold friend bought him another subligar, and desynthed it for him. This made me feel really good knowing that there aren't total dousches in this game like many people say there are. I talked to my Cloth/Gold friend thanking her for making my friend the manteel. She said no problem. Two hours later, I get a tell from her.

    Her>> OMG

    Her>> I just HQed a Vermy ^^

    Her>> Must be some good Karma since I helped your friend. XD

    Her>> Now to finish up this little mistake I made when I desynthed the second subligar.

    Karma does exist. When you wrong somebody, it comes back to bite you in the ass. When you help somebody, it comes back to help you out. ^^

    Just a little story to take people out of the drama of, "OMG, he buys gil." "WTF? That's a bot." "DAMN GILSELLERS!"

          Yeah, good story. It is kind of strange but it almost does seem like this game has some sort of karma going for it. I've had a lot of incredibly good things come my way on the game, strangely happening quite often after I do a good deed. That would be intresting if there was something like that going on. LOL, just imagine how huge a shift that could cause if someone finds a mechanics actually existing in the game that causes a good or bad karma with your character.

            bleh i dont believe in karma in V.R. it was just the otherday when i helped a few people kill some nms for there job, it was 2 sams looking for help with Valkum nms. so i aggree an go there to later pawn them all. later on that night i helped a JPN ls kill a the rostum pump nm.

            so early on in the morning its a very good time to HQ some jugs for bst jugburn pts an normal odds an ends. 2 stacks later 0 HQ's. earlier today i tried again. 0 HQ's. so yeah im still waiting for my karma, i helped total strangers out with jug pets. an i cant even HQ 1 synth out of 4 stacks. did manage to break crystals an lose materials even though im around 60 over the cap....

            Nin75, Bst75. Drk61, War61, Rdm40, All other jobs are 37. All 3 starting city missions completed. All Zilart missions completed. All CoP missions completed. TouA completed.

              It's because you're expecting something in return of your good actions. You're killing the normal flow of karma.

                thats so true. I made a nice chunk of gil last few weeks from inflation/bcnm/tarasque farming and upgraded a few items. now my whole ls thinks im a gilbuyer. /sigh



                also, i found this funny. my friend wanted to buy a kraken club, said id get 10M if i get someone to sell it for 160M (goes for 200M). after the first shout (Kraken Club Can I have it? 160,000,000) i get these replies:

                "omg gilbuyer"
                "IGE must have a special"
                "GILBUYER GO TO HELL
                etc

                sad really... :\
