I just wanted to give my condolences to everyone affected by this storm. I was actually affected by this storm but not as bad as some people. It hit my area from about 5:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday (10-24) and it sounded pretty scary at times. Thankfully, it moved very quickly (23 mph) and it did not cause to much harm to my house or my city. I lost power but it came back within a day. So once again, I hope that anyone who was caught in the path made it through alright.

Re: Hurricane Wilma
My family lost the front and back fence, half the large aluminum shelter in the back yard and a large tree in the front yard. There was some roof damage over an addition that needs looking into; it was raining indoors for a while and the stains need to be painted over as well. We got power back after just three days without it, FP&L.
Our other house lost half a roof's worth of shingle and the screen from the screen porch. We nailed some plastic sheets and fiberglass tarps down. Braving the steep rooftop was fun, but painting those high ceilings again will suck.
My grandparents' trailer (why oh why won't they move >< lost some shingles but amazingly suffered no serious damage. The potted plants didn't even fall over. But it's been said they might be without electricity in that area until Thanksgiving though. (!!!)
