Wow I saw that guys site a long time ago, but I've only just now heard the FedEx was going after him. Is it really so bad that he's using FedEx boxes as furniture? >_> It's not like he's selling furniture made out of the boxes x_x If anything I would think this is good publicity for them.

Yeah, I'm a little more than confused as to why FedEx is going after him. I mean this is something I'd use to market my service. I mean if the boxes can take the weight of a guy jumping up and down on make shift bed, they should be able to protect your items from most anything that happens to them while being shipped. But that's just me!
Best I can guess is that the guys was stating it's ok to be ghetto but showing FedEx boxes in turn they probably took it as stating that FedEx and their work is ghetto as well. Really stupid defensive action they felt they were being offended and responded against it.

Let's say hypothetically the boxes didn't hold him while he was jumping on them.
Let's say hypothetically he broke his back while jumping on the boxes.
Let's say hypothetically he sued Fedex for making poor boxes while he jumped on them.
You can see why Fedex wouldn't want him to jump on their boxes. Of course this is all hypothetical, but not forseeable. Foreseeability is something that you learn in business law that can possibly happen even if it is far fetched beyond what that is possible.

But they are not getting him for making furniture out of it. Near the bottom you can see their angle or focus was that it seems they thought he would sell his made furniture with FedEx's logo all over it. Outside of that the guys own website is a testimant of him taking action of his own accord. Wouldn't it just be easier then for FedEx to get him to sign off a waver or something, stating that any injury incurred is not do due to how FedEx makes the boxes but that he used the boxes outside of their purpose?
