There's nothing professional about running around in your underwear.
Oh and yet many pro wrestlers practically wrestle in their underwear. And there are the people who work in underwear ads ( that industry would expect some level of professionalism).
Anyways the professionalism is in the professional level of arena football they play. The uniform draws in more interest and the athletes skills and competition keep crowds interested. I would like to see you think of a way women's football could expand and gain more popularity without the lingerie element, and expand globally like the LFL is doing. Chances are your version of "proper" women's football would tank very quickly, because most men out there only care about women's football depending on how much sex appeal is involved.
I have no idea about this Lingerie football, but clothes don't make something professional. That's performance.
Clothes are always for show regardless of the sport unless they serve a real performance purpose like full body swimsuits do. In other words if you want to disqualify this as a sport you need to focus on the sport, how good are they compared to other leagues, how good their games actually are, etc. etc.
Because considering how exploited athletes and their images are all the crap about this being less for having girls showing more is hypocritical at best.
sigpic "In this world, the one who has the most fun is the winner!"C.B.
but compared to pro wrestling, LFL really is a sport. Unlike pro wrestling, LFL is not acting, there is real competition and sincere emotion within the athletes. Watch full games of LFL and dare to think that they are just pretending to be football players and dare to claim that their competition is staged. To think so is disrespecting the hard working athletes as a whole. LFL isn't some mere spectacle, there is a serious professional sport within.

I'm sure there's practical reasons for most sport uniforms. Football is a full-contact sport with a high injury rate. Sexism aside, do you really think being half-naked is safe? It's as bad as boxers not wearing headgear.
Let the athletes think about the risks and set their priorities of what they want to do in their life. They would not be in the league if they were sensitive insecure cowards like some people here, mew. It's a league for the tough and the brave.
It is kind of like Mixed Martial Arts really, one of the most dangerous and injury risk sports, but even more women are starting to join MMA.
Seriously J9, the only reason this thing exists is to show women in their underwear. If people want to make porn then they should just make porn.
Um that is a very one sided opinion mew. You could ask fans and there will be those that watch it for the sport itself and seeing the athletes as human beings, not sex objects. The uniform is just "icing on the cake of the sport" as some would say. And as we know, a cake isn't a cake with just icing.
Like I said, this sport wouldn't be expanding and being more successful if it was just all looks. There is a sport as a part of its foundation and the athletes are not people picked up from the street and hired to play the next day.
Anyways for those interested, there are more LFL action this saturday!!

Let the athletes think? That's certainly not what they're training for, and certainly not what they're paid to do. If they're not too dumb to know the risks, they're willing to disregard them for those six figures.

Cake is definitely cake, with or without the icing. I find it better without the icing, most of the time.

Right, and Playboy became popular due to its awesome articles.

Correct, they must first strip naked and walk around, and then undergo days of being pressured into having sex with whatever creep runs the whole operation.
-LFL isn't a sport ... it's entertainment. Much like the "American Gladiators" and "Rollerblade Derby".
-Neither is pro-wrestling. The whole thing is scripted, from the locker room trash talk down to the throwing of chairs into the crowd.
-J9, last I checked, we still have a public decency law in almost every country, with the exception of a few countries where women need to be covered up completely or risk having caustic acid thrown in their face. That and several indigenous "lost" tribes of ancient people.
