  • SourceFed at the RNC/DNC thread

I thought I'd just post this because I like those SourceFed-type peoples. They've had some clips ahead of this convention and its all been level-headed and entertaining rather than the usual "They're going kick granny off a cliff" or "Conservatives are the greatest people ever" dichotomy. I'll update the thread with the main videos from each day of the convention to have them all neatly in one place. When the DNC has their convention in Charlotte, NC. I'll keep those updates as well in this post (even if the forum code forces them into links >.>).

Also, since this is about politics and it has the potential to turn people into nuts, I ask that you follow the example of the SourceFed guys and keep the conversation fun and informative rather than crazy and stupid. If you must post Comedy Central footage - as droll, unfunny, and predicable as that is now - that's fine, but keep that biased Fox, CNN and MSNBC shit out of the thread. Not up for debate - JUST NO.

Funny and informative videos - yes.
Slanted and stupid video - no.

Note: If the thread does get into stupid, abusive language and hateful comments, mods can just shut it down because politics.

    RNC Day #1:

Since the arrival of Issac was a thing today, not much happened, so there's a bit of entertaining, educational filler in this video and some coverage of Ron Paul since he took advantage of the dead time, along with a small bit of discussion of people flipping party allegiance.

Love how you go on about unbiased bla bla bla then lambaste comedy central...

I thought Stewart & Colbert were both great tonight. I was surprised actually that both their interviews with Sen. Rubio & Andrew Sullivan were enjoyable. I normally find Rubio to be a bit of a douche, but he wasn't so bad tonight.

Also, while I don't support the guy, that was some damn shabby treatment for Ron Paul & his supporters and I think it speaks volumes about the party. Come on, you don't even say his name or publicly acknowledge the votes (even the states where he won a majority) and then toss out all his supporters for being upset?

Viacom owns them. They're as bad as News Corp. They only move to a rational center when ratings are at stake. If I need a parody of conservative principles, that's what talk radio is already for. Colbert's act is a copy of a copy of a copy.

Or from Rush to Beck to Hannity. Its pretty much what Colbert's act amounts to.

I mean, would you enjoy a comedian that tried to embody Keith Olbermann, Rachel Maddow and James Carville in constant parody?

There's a reason he was asked to leave a congressional committee while Seseme Street's Elmo was allowed to stay. The act isn't funny.
