Was Rory at the end a fixed point since his grave stone always existed before they broke the paradox? Amy rewrote time, but it seemed Rory was doomed from the start

This ending for the companions and the (final) ending for Rose have been the saddest parts of the show... Then there's the lingering sadness of knowing River Song is going to soon "die." However, with that in mind... Since the Doctor gave her some of his regeneration, maybe she'll come back? Gasp.

Time can be rewritten but both River and Rory's deaths are fixed points. The finale of last season shows exactly what happens when you fuck with fixed points in time and just how hard it is to get around one. It took The Doctor 200 years to work out how to get around the fixed point regarding his own death which is a luxury that Amy and Rory do not have.

Plus River and her crew are technically still "alive" anyway since they all have their consciousnesses uploaded to the Library. Plus River is River, it's not as if she will never find some way of visiting her parents again, because when has something as silly as the laws of reality ever stopped her from doing the right thing before?.

Which is what I'm saying. She may of had some regenerative power of her own left over and then coupled with what the doctor gave her, she may be able to get out of the Library. It'll be a way to keep that character going. Maybe not now, but she'll return with a new actress playing her. They wouldn't of written in the doctor giving her some regeneration without a reason. Especially take notice of the doctor's face in this episode when he learned she just became a professor. He did it so she could come back.

Just don't see the wife of the doctor being culled from the series like past companions so easily.
