My primary wish is for this to die in before pre-production like Halo and Mass Effect did because I'm fairly sure it will end up in the hands of the creators of American Pie or the folks that did 21 Jump Street recently.

Then again, didn't CBS Studios grab this? I think they made the fairly horrible adaptation of XIII.

Dude, that was more than 10 years ago and it was a spin off with no relationship whatsoever to FF except for some obscure references. Even worse was the fact everyone was expecting a FFVII movie (Advent Children), and when they didn't get it they raged. For a good reason if I might add.

Also, Advent Children actually did pretty well. So there's no reason for a comparison with SW at this point.

Just make an extended version of the HD intro for HR. It would take a Tanaka to get it wrong from there.

The CG SE produced to promote for DXHR was pretty phenomenal, but then, I hate adaptations like this because people to scared to RPG end up watching these instead of experiencing the game.

They watch Persona 4 the anime rather than play the game, which already was an anime in spirit. It did little else but insert filler expository nonsense to a already tightly-woven story. Making a movie about DX or Mass Effect just tears out the most important part of those games - choice.. I'm honestly glad most of this stuff dies in the planning stages.

Wasn't that produced and directed by the 2 guys who starred in it? I watched that movie this weekend and it wasn't awful. It wasn't something I'd ever watch again... but it wasn't awful.

At least they had the decency to put Jonny Depp in it as a cameo.

I just had to look at the two leads, contrast it against vague memory to know it was a modern unfunny comedy raping what little I remembered. Johnny Depp just appeared out of sympathy and free money, I think.

I would like it better if it was a side story that expanded on the backstory, like the story from the motion comic they released with the Augmented Edition. But all rendered in the same HD awesomeness as the CG.

This is pretty much the sole reason I'm hoping AC movie turns out great - so that dev studios can finally tell the hollywood execs who've ruined franchise after franchise (Paul Anderson needs to DIAF) to shove it up their asses.

The sad thing is, Christian Bale's batman voice is oddly appropriate for Jensen... if only the asshole would enunciate.

Well, his John Conner is closer to Jensen than his Batman. I was pointing out everyone but Bale make the Dark Knight movies great because they elevate his Batman in the same way his comic book cast does. Batman tends to he more awesome when he doesn't think he's doing all the lifting.
