    Re: The Last Airbender

Because I couldn't possibly mean it in terms of movie age and only would have meant it in terms of in story continuity timelines.

Because it's totally possible to judge one movie which takes place and the 80s and another that takes place in the far distant future by the same timeline.

    I mean really?

Man using Predator tech as weaponry has been a theme in their movies for as long as man using Aliens as weaponry has been a theme in those movies.

I think I am going to end this debate. Every time you say a statement it changes slightly...kind of hard to debate something that is not static.

Now using Predator tech as long as using Aliens as weapons(which conflicts with the second statement)

        Re: The Last Airbender

....i don't really see how it's all of that hard a concept to understand.

In the Predator movie series, man, as a species, wants to use the strengths of the Predators as a potential weapon.

In the Alien movie series, man, as a species, wants to use the strength of the Aliens as a potential weapon.

In both movie franchises, man, as a species has wanted to use the strengths of the monsters in their respective films as some sort of weapon. In both movies, as an underlying theme, they both went with the "these things may be killers, but man is the real monster" subtext.

Actually, I never gathered that message from the Predator movies. I never got the impression there was some clandestine group out to control their weapons. In the second flick, I rather got the impression of a clandestine group tracking them throughout history in the hops of trapping and studying them.

If there was any message to be gathered, it was the "hunter becoming the hunted," thereby holding a mirror up to our own violent, avaricious tendencies. Man's inhumanity was only made apparent through the introduction of a bigger monster.
