Both AvP movies were crap. The first one I found more entertaining because at least it had some sorta plot (was small but there) and Lance Henriksen.

I generally considered the Predators blowing themselves up once they got beat up as a way to stop their technology from being studied and assmiliated by other races, (You have to remember that Predators do not hunt ONLY Humans and Aliens) of course, that's yet another thing AvP2 fucked up.

Why are they girls?

Having said that, a new series based on the Avatar world is in the making. It won't feature the original cast as the main characters, but they'll be seen in flash backs and such throughout the new series story telling. Other then that, and the name of the new series, not much is known about it however.

Simply put, they do it to erase all trace of themselves and the hunt, not because they're sore losers. That just wouldn't jibe with the honorable hunter tribe mentality they have going on. And both AvP movies were shit but what else can you expect from Paul WS Anderson. *cough* Resident Evil series *cough*

This is pretty much what I got out of it as well, in every Predator movie, humans have always been hunting the Predators as much as Predators have been hunting us. They know this, but they'll still take the bait provided as it makes their hunt that much more dangerous.

I hear people say that they are an honorable hunter tribe but dont see it. Is it said in the comic books?

This is pretty much what I got out of it as well, in every Predator movie, humans have always been hunting the Predators as much as Predators have been hunting us.

I have never seen this in the first 3 movies. Was this said/shown in AvP2?

How have you not seen it? It was a big plot point in Predator 2, Gary Busey and his entire team's sole purpose was to hunt down and capture a live Predator. It's why they had the anti-heat suits and ice guns. Heck even in the first movie the conflict and the team sent in was more or less bait to try and lure out the Predator (iirc, been a long time since I saw it) before the government sent in a much more well prepared team to take it down. Heck, even in AvP1 the government knew what the temple was really meant for when they let those people access the dig site(again, iirc).

Wanting to use Predator tech as weapons has been an underlying theme of their movies for as long as humans trying to use Aliens as weapons has been a theme in theirs.

Dutch's old military buddy and now CIA officer, George Dillon (Carl Weathers), steps in as a liaison. The team is then inserted by helicopter to their destination within the jungle.

Keyes reveals to Harrigan what he is dealing with, and that he and his team have been following encounter sites with the "other world life form" ever since Alan "Dutch" Schaeffer and his special forces team were attacked in the jungle ten years earlier.

Several more Predators appear and carry away their dead clan-mate, while an elder Predator gives Harrigan an antique flintlock pistol as a sign of respect.
