This is, by far, one of the worst television shows, ever.

          Re: Deadliest Warrior Season 2

LOL the premise is awesome, but some of it is a little over the top/questionable.

And all we have to go on Ninjas is Japanese Folklore, and the allegations of a few prominent clans (Fuma & Koga, which incidentally is why NIN's AF and Relic sets are named after them)

There's no official documentation proving they really existed - but then maybe that's what we're supposed to think

Also in season one they should be shot for using the term "Knight". The correct term is "Man/Men at arms". Knights were specifically nobility who rode on horseback in that super heavy armor carrying a lance, they were not the rank and file troops. I also call supreme BS on the Pirate winning that battle for a lot of reasons, chief among them skill, training, discipline and the blunderbuss being total crap.

Okay, so in 1 test they showed it pierced the armor. I forget if they even tested it on full plate or not (I don't think they did) and even then, they usually wore multiple layers of armor (Full plate on top of either leather, ring or chain maile) and on top of that, the thing was

          #1) Highly inaccurate

#2) Had to be used at such close range the knight could just use his shield. There's no way in hell bits of broken glass fired out of a tiny cannon are going to go through a Kite Shield AND Plate Maile, not happening. Crossbow makes him ridiculously deadly at far superior ranges anyway so good luck ever getting that close to begin with. The only decent weapon the Pirate really had was that bomb, which I will concede was fairly nasty and would surely do our hero in. But again, good luck ever getting the stupid thing off.

The most absurd thing, by far, was in the "fight" video where the Knight cracks him in the arm while on horseback (I think he was on horseback at the time) with the Mace. They measured the force of that thing to be around 800 PSI. Like hell anyone would still be standing after that, his arm would be completely shattered and the pain unbearable.

I always thought it was pretty corny that the Doc on the show always wore his scrubs and coat.

A whole martial art consisting of Ninja techniques, stories, and developed weapons aren't enough? Ninja were just chinese mercs.. Media and legend created them into something greater than they were.

I was referring to Alcapone's gang not JJ's gang. I misread what your posted and thought you were meant only Al Capone wasnt a warrior.

As said before, JJ was in the military. He and his gang new warfare from fighting with "The Law" of the places they robbed.

Al Capone knew warfare from fighting over territories. Just because you are the most dominate gangster in Chicago doesnt mean you will not take over some of other gang's territory or another gang will not attempt to take over some of your territory.

Ex-confederate turned criminal still doesn't qualify(to me) as a warrior.

I get what you're saying, but when you hear warrior, you picture someone like Attila the Hun, or Spartans, not gang members who murder innocent people trying to do their jobs or walking in to the wrong place at the wrong time.

I wouldnt use Attila the Hun as an example because he and his army did kill innocent people, but I know what you mean.

Sorry but it does. Just because he was a crook doesn't mean you can discredit the fighting skills he learned from being a soldier.

What skills? It was the WILD west.. Everyone knew the skills he had. KIDS knew how to shoot guns like that. That's all they had to do for fun.

He traveled with a gang of dudes who were a bunch of punks and used fear to manipulate people into submission. I am guess the street gangs of today are considered warriors too since they use, in your words, "gorilla" like tactics?

I agree. This thread is basically the same thing, too. It's mostly unusable "data", if you'd even call it that, and varying amount of speculation and conjecture.

True. It all boils down to the person using the techniques and what they're thinking.

You just lost any and all right to criticise anything with that moronic statement. "ZOMG it was teh wild west, they must have been total morons with no formal training or knowledge of tactics" is basically what you're saying here.

Can't really say not having even seen the actual program they use, but a lot of the outcomes they've determined have been highly questionable.
