    Vizio announces 72'' 3dLCD, Breaks hole in time&space

    News and Press - VIZIO Launches NEW XVT Proâ„¢ Series of Advanced HDTV Technology | VIZIO

    So were reading this at work, where we have brand new monstrous 52'' Samsung LCD's ( like 10 of them spread throught the building to display....fox news) And we read this article and it boggled our minds enough that we busted out a measuring tape, and proceeded to hold it up to the 52 inch. It was almost 21 inches bigger than the 52. Best part about this whole shebangbang is that it's going to be 3,500$ ... for 72 inches.

    i'm 73 inches. I could lay on this thing, and display a HD video taken from a sky divers helmet cam AND I WOULD FEEL LIKE I WAS SKY DIVING11!!

    I could replace all my windows and my house could travel to the moon!!!

    I could build an aircraft out of 60 of them and make it LOOK LIKE ANYTHING!!!...
    oh yeah and one more thing

    Can you imagine what a multi-monitor super computer would look like with those??? CAN YOU IMAGINE 3D EXCEL!!!!

    Well if it costs 3500 for a 72" 3D TV, it probably won't be too bad for a 40ish inch display which is what I'll be wanting for gaming and watching 3D Blu-Rays on TV.

        72 is just overkill imo Shepard. Not saying I wouldn't think about buying one if I had the gil.

              I can't imagine how big a 72'' TV is unless it's pictured with somebody holding up a quarter next to it.

                I'm seriously going to laugh my ass off when all this 3D shit bombs like it always does. People are just now transitioning to HDTV - which took over a decade to take off - and now they're trying to push this crap the "next big thing."

                Except its not the next big thing, but a rehashed fad that gives over half the world's population a fucking migrane headache when they use it.

                      What? I don't like things that gives me splitting headaches. Most people would consider that normal. It is visually unpleasant to me and this technology affects a lot of people with astigmatism, people that require prescription glasses or contacts to function day-to-day.

                      I already have to go through one set of lenses here, 3D asks me to wear another set of lenses and they're not for improving my vision but for focusing my eyes another way. Its not fun, it hurts. That's not being negative, its just stating how it affects me. Its not fun, its not fun for a lot of people and people marketing this shit not considering those of us that have vision problems.

                      It's like not considering closed captioning for the deaf or ramps for people with wheelchairs. You want people to like your product or business, not make them hate you for forgetting about their needs.

                      I want this to fail because it should, they're not giving consumer's issues any consideration.

                        Then don't watch it. Most people don't have astigmatism. Alot of people like 3D and it doesn't hurt their eyes. Just because it hurts your eyes and causes you a headache, they shouldn't make 3D movies?

                        On that note, I'm going to see Avatar in IMAX digital 3D tonight and can't wait!

                            Last article I read on the 3D TVs said that the 3D could be turned off of the movies, so it'd then just appear as a regular HD-TV. I guess the 3D could just be an extra incentive/gimmick to add to HDTV, especially after 3D Bluray comes out.
