I saw his bit at Amnesty International Secret Policeman's Ball on Youtube and have seen some more. He is very funny and definitely worth watching.

If you like it try Marcus Brigstocke as well - [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UY-ZrwFwLQg"]YouTube- Religion - Marcus Brigstocke[/ame]

It's the usual rant on religion. I don't find humor in predictability.

Yeah, playing the well-worn internet atheist bit isn't really a knee-slapper. Having a Scottish accent and rehashed insults doesn't suddenly make it witty. Brigstock got sympathy laughter because people were drunk.

Real humor has no sacred cows, agenda or politics behind it.

That's why the Tim Minchin stuff is a whole lot more funny, its just fun and irreverent to the core.

The thing about Tim Minchin, atleast for me, is that the songs are not only funny but also good, as in, its good music to listen to. He's great. And some are actually somewhat deep and have a serious tone to them.

I've never really been a fan of musical comedy, with only one exception. Minchin does seem talented, though. Besides, he has the whole Betelgeuse look going on and that's a plus in my book.
