    Tekken official trailer, its a tournament like the game.

    Hmm do people think it's more accurate to the game? Well maybe a lil? They have the tournament theme intact at least.

                  ...wtf, a movie based off a fighting game where the characters are actually recognizable?

                  I don't think that's been done since Mortal Kombat. This one might actually be worth watching once it comes out on premium cable movie channels.

                      I sent my friend the trailer for this and he said "You mean to tell me they didn't learn from DoA?" then we went back and forth forming a list of shameful movies:

                      Super Mario Bros
                      Street Fighter (This came on Spike last week, and I was LMAO at how terrible it was. I used to like the movie back when I was a kid)
                      Dead or Alive (DoA)
                      Mortal Kombat: Annhiliation
                      KoF (I don't think this has come out yet, didn't Jenova post a topic on this?)

                      Tomb Raider was ok I guess, I never played any of the games in the series though.

                        Well, FFVII Advent Children didn't suck... it wasn't perfect, but I think it did alright in a paraphrasing kind of way. Would have helped more if they'd given some real background on the "remnants" Loz, Yazoo and Kadaj.

                        Prince of Persia has the potential to be good, it helps that its got the PotC people behind it. I don't see it turning out terribly, but I guess we have a while to keep hope alive there.

                        But Tekken has never had a good story, the animes have been even worse, so I don't see why they'd even shoot for movie on this one. The only way to take Street Fighter or DoA movies without going crazy is in that "they're so bad its funny" kind of way. The Chun Li movie couldn't even do that, it as just plain bad. Van Damme's movie was fucking hilarious, I mean Ming Na as Chun Li and Kylie Minogue as Cammy? The movie was horrible, but some of the actors actually had potential. Well, at least in terms of acting, they just had a bad script.

                        And the bits with Zangief and DeeJay were funny.
