Does anyone know if anything happened with this suit? This was from back in January so I was wondering if there was an update to this. Kinda like last night when my mom screamed "OH NO!!!!!! ALL MY YOUTUBE FAVORITES ARE GONE!!!" Well, because I replaced windows and she hadn't signed into youtube (She hadn't "Signed In" in so long that she didn't know that's where her favorites were stored since the old IE auto-logged in.) her favorites didn't come up. She also couldn't remember her password. SMH. All of her favorites were Music Videos with the majority of them being Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston.
But I agree, the internet is for everybody....(Cept my mom)Last edited by Durahansolo; 10-02-2009, 05:56 AM.{New Sig in the works}

Re: Jack Thompson
The thing is, people on Facebook act like fucking twelve year olds. They bring all of their high school catty passive-aggression to the damn site and act like idiots, then bitch when they lose their friends and/or their jobs.
If people could just use the internet and act like grown ups instead of returning to high school every time they log on, I'd have no problem with it. Fact is, I see way too many pictures of Facebook walls where people are acting like fools to consider it worthwhile for anyone over the age of 15, since that's probably about the maximum maturity level for some of those sites.sigpic

There are just some things you shouldn't post about on facebook, putting all of your business out in the the street. For example: this girl I went to highschool with, posted a bunch of comments about her baby's father who wasn't helping her and the baby wasn't even born yet. She then decided to post that she was trying to get him out of her life and wanted to know what would be the easiest way to do it. Another friend of mine decided to get on facebook and post a note about his baby's mother who has custody of his child. They went back and forth slamming each other about silly stuff and then her friends jumped in and it became a big mess. There are days like that when I just shake my head at the nonsense and the majority of it, I don't even read or entertain.{New Sig in the works}

I'm mostly just anti-Facebook, but it really grinds my gears when people more than ten years my senior act like they're in high school on that damn site, which is why it makes me /facepalm in general.sigpic

Re: Jack Thompson
Yeah, except this site has just as much potential to ruin lives. Most of us are open about our emails and other contact details; and most of us don't put up a firewall between our online and real lives. All of that can be traced back to us. Ffs, you post pictures of yourself; if someone wanted to confirm that you do post at this forum, that would do it.
In fact, I'm going to do some googling and send you a PM if I can find anything on you; which I probably can.

Re: Jack Thompson
Go for it. It's not like I'm doing anything illegal here, and any shit I talk is most likely about my douchebag ex-husband. I don't go around making an ass of my self, if anything, the only thing I do online is swear a lot, which is pretty similar to how I talk in real life.
I'm remarkably open about who I am both online and off. I have nothing to hide.
People who have something to hide have no business flaunting it on the internet and then acting butthurt when it gets found.sigpic

Re: Jack Thompson
Illegal, no, potentially stupid, of course. Especially from the viewpoint of employers.
But the point is, for everything you SEE about someone being stupid almost anywhere, there are dozens of people being reasonable and respectable.

Re: Jack Thompson
That's true, but Facebook is still a cesspool, and I refuse to become a part of it. It seems the more people that flock to these websites (like myspace, as well) the less reputable the site becomes.sigpic
