  • Disney/Pixar's UP

Did not like this movie in the idea that it was presented as a Comedy, this was in no way true, I felt the theme's presented in the movie were way too mature, and this was not a "Children's Movie".

More when I get home, but I have to run to work.

I disagree. The movie does touch upon some relatively mature themes, but it does so subtly. Granted, it wasn't as light-hearted as one would expect, but I still think it was kid-friendly while still being entertaining enough for older audiences.

(Not saying you didn't but) I certainly liked the movie. Didn't know what to expect out of it, but it didn't disappoint.

I have not seen this movie so I can't comment specifically on it. But I can say that lately there have been quite a few movies that follow this pattern. I know this is old fashioned of me but I long for the days of Snow White and Cinderella type movies for kids. Stop with trying to teach them about global warming god damn it and let them be kids! We are starting to stress our children out at too young of an age, its something I've been telling parents for the longest time now.

Totally off subject but I'm looking forward to this movie:

I don't consider it a kids move though.

I plan to see it, it looks cute. And my boyfriend can't stop talking about the talking dog from the previews.

TGM: Might want to see this: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r74c3qxVsaE"]YouTube - 9 Shane Acker Short Animation[/ame] It's a short film from 2005, looks like the movie is based on it.

And yeah, 9 doesn't look like a kid's movie to me either.

It's an animation, everyone knows they are only for children.

Like Kite, Heavy Metal, Mezzo Forte....

I remember when Princess Mononoke first came out in theaters. You could hear the collective gasps of outrage from the parents with their 8yr olds as the limbs started to fly. ^.^`

Oh god, just had this discussion with my sister. She recently started talking to me again after years of silence so I try not to rattle the cage. God knows my mother would kill me if it started all over again. LOL But my sister started talking about how her friends son watches cartoons a lot and his mother is concerned. Now the son is 19 so I assumed they meant anime and said to her "do you mean anime?" She gave me a pissed off look and said "you do know what cartoons are don't you?" <insert me trying to keep from making snide comments here> I explained that though anime and cartoons look similar to someone that doesn't watch them, they are not the same. She came back with "real life action is not in a cartoon, its drawn or made on a computer. It's really easy to tell the differencey Chery" I should have just shut up but I couldn't let it lie. I also had to explain it to her in the simplest terms since she was being a f**king idiot. "Sue, anime often has swearing and addresses adult issues more explicitly, thats why people don't call them cartoons. Cartoons are shows that parents can safely let their children watch and enjoy." So then she went on a "well she really should be concerned then if he's watching cartoon people have sex and stuff! Thats not normal!" And at that point I just had to walk away or start another feud that lasted for more years of my life...........not that I would have minded, but my mother would have.

TGM, you are probably the one person I know with a good justification for removing their family from the genetic pool instead of attempting to help spread it.

LOL Feba and you only know a very tiny bit about them. Oh, the stories I could tell! Fyi, I'm considered the black sheep/screwed up one in the family. Many of them are "<insert addiction here>aholics" but "a grown woman playing video games is JUST NOT RIGHT!" as they say. LOL

Just returned from seeing this movie with my girlfriend and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

I've been using any excuse I can to point at something and say "Point!" since we left the theatre.
