I was just looking over The Magic Box site ... seems a few days ago they mentioned "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li" would be released early next year. I'm kinda scared, yet at the same time, the casting actually seems somewhat decent:
Kristen Kruek as Chun Li... kinda scrawny for Chunny, but she's cute enough.
Neil McDounough as M. Bison, pretty much a dead-ringer for the guy.
Micheal Clarke Duncan as Balrog, he's a bit huge for a Tyson knock off, but decent pick.
Taboo from BEP as Vega... WOOOOOOOSH, total miss. Vega is a spaniard, not a rapper.
Robin Shou as Liu Kan... er... Gen. Kinda young for the part, but you barely recognize him.
Well, that's an 80% score on casting.
Chun Li was one of the few SF characters with a story to care about. Her motive is, quite frankly, vengence. The question remains if it will be a good movie though. Justin Marks is the writer and one of his inspirations for his approach to writing the movie was the first X-Men flick. X-Men was about Wolverine and how he met all these other mutants, at the end of the day, though, it was Wolverine's story - that's kinda the approach they're going for. You may or may not see all the other fighters in the movie.
Seems like an interesting angle to go at it.
Still probably going to suck, but its nice to see someone actually trying to make a good game movie this time. Take notes, Uwe.
