honestly I don't think I'm going to be buying too much more physical media (or really, media at all, except for some video games)

There's just so much good stuff out there for free nowadays.

edit: I should clarify. There is a lot of stuff out there that isn't intended to be free. I'm sure there is some actual bona-fide free stuff too.

I watch all my movies and listen to all my music in Hypersonic Extreme Definition. Right now, I'm having Spiderman 3 beamed straight into my skull, the media is actually stored away in the unused portions of other people's brains. Its kinda like a psychic BitTorrent.

Yes it is.

You'd be surprised just how many people are out there putting out quality music, literature, and even a few shows for free. There are also larger companies giving things out for free, like Vuze or whatever the hell it's called, not to mention many TV stations broadcasting via internet. There's also a large amount of public domain works at places like Project Gutenburg.

There's also internet radio like Pandora and Last.fm, and joost looks promising on the internet TV front.

Did you see my edit? I'm not talking about those things, which is why I clarified. Since I wasn't sure what you were referring to, and didn't want to start a long discussion.

I'm not so sure about quality "literature," but I barely like the stuff that is published these days.

Either way, you should know I stopped pirating like a year ago. I've downloaded like two or three albums since then, which is a hueg improvement.

Never cared about the format wars! I'm still content with DVD and dual-layered DVDs. By the time DVD comes anywhere close to be phased out there will be a larger and much better format than BRD making it obsolete and very forgettable!

DVD will be around for a long ass time...
