Re: The greatest televised moment in history
> _> is it wrong of me to have assumed this was going to be one of Hitler's Speeches?
I mean after all, it's a horrible fact that he was the first person to be broadcast on live TV... which means the first video signal aliens will see (if ever) is that guy.
Talk about a GREAT first impression @_ @;;;

Re: The greatest televised moment in history
o. O you sure? My buddy was ranting about it for a while (and he's a pretty big history buff. Has a rather strange obsession with Hitler and the nazis too >- >. Not for what they stood for of course, but the military structure. @_@ he's a nut like that. He just really likes being in the Canadian military)
And we were both joking about how he'd be the first thing Aliens would see. @_ @ a real sterling example of humanity.

Re: The greatest televised moment in history
OMG I remember watching this! LOL (Yes, as in actually being alive and watching it at the time it was broadcast.) I have the album he put out too. Mr. Shatner has quite the ego. Back in the day, he felt that he should be the "sex symbol" on the Star Trek series but Mr. Nimoy (Spock) was what captivated most females. This caused a rift between him and Mr. Nimoy and lead to Mr. Nimoy getting less of a role in the series in the beginning. Ah....so many memories! Thanks! LOL

Re: The greatest televised moment in history
"In 1931, the first ever live television broadcast was made. This was of the Epsom Derby"

What was special about the broadcast of the Opening Ceremonies of the 1936 Olympics was the power that they were broadcast at, and even then it's very possible that various radio transmissions were more powerful earlier. Not that any of it would matter; no alien race is going to be able to make heads or tails out of it. A broadcast of Nazi leadership or a broadcast of someone making great chocolate chip cookies would have the same impact.
He just really likes being in the Canadian military
