Well, it's a start. First PS3, now this. I'm loving all this insanely high tech stuff Sony's been throwing at us, but they need to pace themselves before they end up bankrupt ><

As nice as their stuff is, not everyone can spend thousands of dollars on a whim. Still, that is one bitching sweet TV. Even if it is only 11'

Yay OLED is already here.

Expect portable media (like the PSP) getting way better displays in the future. Although it will take a while before we see a 40" OLED HDTV.

That said, I actually like them pushing technology like this. Ought to push manufacturing costs down on OLEDs.

They've already begun selling in Japan, with limited sales in the US (something like 2000 units I think) starting soon.

not really comparable. A PS3 is something that should be appealing to many people as a gaming console, not a high tech bragging device.

CELL alone was quite an achievement. RSX is fairly impressive too, but graphic cards are always improving all the time anyway.

not really comparable. A PS3 is something that should be appealing to many people as a gaming console, not a high tech bragging device.

I've always believed that the PS3 is ahead of its time, but this will change in a few years when HDTV sets have a bigger market share and HDTV becomes the standard.

That's when the PS3 will truly shine because devs will have more experience developing games for it and gamers will be prepared to really take advantage of what the hardware can offer.

Or at least I hope so. Either way I wonder how is MS going to handle things other than releasing an xbox 720 and marketing it for $200 with aditional leet components up to 2000 bucks.

They could probably give away 360s if they wanted to.

It's going to be a while before OLED technology is available in those screen sizes and at LCD-like prices. So you'll have plenty of time to save for that super slim, Back to the Future II sized TV to cover your wall with.
