    Possible spoilers alert.

I don't think I'm being too negative when I say it was a bad movie. With all the hype they produce these days it's no wonder I had high expectations of this movie. I was never really a fan of the original series, though [early] Beast Wars became a personal favorite, but I thought this could be a move to bring the series around to current. This movie attempted to be a hybrid of comedy and action, and though the comedy wasn't always spot on the action helped reconcile. The problem lies in the claim that it's an action flick. It's not. The hybrid leans towards the comedy side.

Though Megan Fox was a complete fox, even that wasn't enough.

It was a comedy, rated PG-13 for brief moments of action. It's one of those movies you see because it's still one of the better movies out there, and it's not all bad. I had the same problem with Live Free or Die Hard, though Die Hard at least brought a lot more action to the table. There were parts of Transformers that were terribly pointless.

I wish writers and producers would stop watering down their movies to maximize their profits. You wont find a single painting everybody can appreciate, and the same should be said about movies if they want to claim it's an art. I'm not sure if they do. Niche movies always seem to be the best.

I could go on and on for days, but it'll pass when I stop feeling disappointed.

    I liked it, personally.

I liked it, but had trouble telling the Transformers apart in robot form apart from Blackout, Frenzy, Optimus, and Bumblebee. Also, Megatron was too much of a plot device for my liking.

I really enjoyed the movie, I was surprised at how much I liked it. Yeah it didn't have a ton of action, but I didn't really care. Dunno but my only real complaint is the product placement in the movie. Just can't be critical about this movie like I am about others.

The show didnt have that much action in it in the beginning or atleast I think its been YEARS sense I have seen it. But anway, I personaly loved the movie, its one of my all time favorites now. Sure it had some comic relief, so what? I thought it sticked to the series..guess I was wrong! :|

Edit: THE MOVIE ROCKED MY WORLD! I am happy till another good movie comes out! Also...someone on another forum said that Transformers is retarted and so is harry potter because it has the audiance towards kids. Oh please..if thats the case this world is scewed up! (hearing people curse, talk about sex, etc...is for kids? o_O) I remember when I was a kid if they EVER showed stuff like that towards kids..they would of got into some mega trouble..one more thing forgive my horrible writting I am tired...and dont care lol...

I went in with low and realistic expectations on opening day and was very impressed when I left the theatre. The humor was mostly spot-on, the dialog was sharp, and the CGI was extremely well-done.

Great popcorn flick. I enjoyed it immensely!

Coming from a fella who was highly critical of the film, was fully expecting it to suck hard, and was making every effort to pick at it: I was thoroughly impressed with the film. Amazed even, like "I can't wait for the sequel" amazed. Instead of rolling my eyes, I found myself geeking out the entire time.

Not chock-full of action, but plenty in all the right places, properly timed comic relief(Shia Lebouf gotz talent), and well-crafted, relatively faithful backstory to keep even the geeks satisfied. And the CGI! There was next to nothing lost in translation between the transformation from vehicle to robot! I was almost convinced that I might turn a corner to see two 30-foot robots duking it out!

Steven Spielberg could not have put this project in better hands.

This movie has to be one of the best one I've seen in years. Kind of ties with Doom in terms of action content and with something you'd wouldn't expect other movies to have. Seeing every preview, teaser, behind the scenes could top how good this was. Though they were a great appitizer for the main course ^^

I don't think there was much product placement in the movie besides the obvious Autobot car models, and I think one of the Decepticons was a Charger. Towards the end the Sodabot and Xboxicon seemed a little blatant.

There was a prievew that really piqued my interests. It was the one that started out at a party and ended with roaring howels, an explosion, and the head of the Statue of Liberty flying across the city. I think I heard one of the party-goers say something about a lion.

AS aired an episode of Voltron that night, featuring the voice of Optimus Prime, and the roaring body parts reminded me of the preview.

I did the same thing, pretty much. I mean, it's a Michael Bay film about a group of beloved childhood icons. I knew it wasn't going to be exactly like the G1 series, and so I was able to enjoy it for what it was, not what I thought it should be.

I have the same expectations for super hero movies and movies made from books I enjoyed as a child. It seems to work out pretty well.

Somehow I still expect that if you're going to put millions of dollars into something it better be good. Million dollar good.

I just mostly expected an action movie. It was good, but I felt there was too much joking around.

                          Re: Transformers Movie

The preview is for this film Cloverfield (working title, of course) by the guy who does lost. Details about it are strapped down tighter than a Tarutaru at a S&M bar, but rumors are that it is a new Godzilla (and not Matthew Broderick Iguana Godzilla).

I have to say that I was somewhat leery about the film myself, but it blew me out of the water. I thought it was amusing, and I think Shia LaBouf was just a stand up actor. I must say, the Xboxicon amused me, although I was hoping that they'd smash it to piece *just got the Red Ring of Death*. I'm waiting for the sequels, because earth needs some more Arcee!

There is often a lot of joking in action movies. The comedy mixed with action is what makes it fun.

I thought it was million dollar good.

True, plus like I said above they joked around alot in the show too so yeah it kept with the cartoon. Also that movie preview in the beginning looked so cool, I think I want to see that!
