Well, since the hip-hop thread is more a flame than anything else, maybe rock will have a better conclusion! And because I want to try out a new band, I've been listening to he same few for awhile.

    Wooo!!

    Rock.

    Yeah!~

    Rock rocks!

    YEAH!

Post your favorite rock bands and/or song (Any and all forms; emo, punk, indie, metal, whatever, raprock)

    1. Skillet (The Last Night, Comatose, Rebirthing, Yours to hold, Older I get, Whispers in the dark)
    2. Escape the Fate (The Webs we Weave, Truth in Cliche, Guillotine, Ransom)
    3. Inked In Blood (Lest I sleep the sleep of death)
    4. Breaking Benjamin (Breath)
    5. Bleeding Through (13 scars, Line in the sand)
    6. Vanna (That Champagne Feeling)
    7. Evansblue (Cold (but I'm still here), Over and over)
    8. Hawthorne Heights (Ohio is for lovers, Saying sorry, Dead in the Water)
    9. Chiodos (NO HARDCORE DANCING IN THE LIVING ROOM)
    10. Say Anything (Wow, I can get sexual too)

I probly didn't mention a few, those are just the ones I usually listen to! But uh, feel free to post as many as you want.

And yes, this is a rip off of that other thread, but hey, different genre.
In the moonlight, your face it glows.. like a thousand diamonds, I suppose.
And your hair flows like.. The ocean breeze...
Not a million fights could make me hate you, you’re invincible.
    Yeah, It’s true.
It’s in your eyes, where I find peace.

    [I love you, Rebecca :D!]

I like ze music. I have too much of it to list my favorites, because that changes pretty regularly.

          the pillows, naturally.

Also, Low and Soul Coughing, although they're barely rock.

I agree with Murphie that it would be impossible to list favorites, it changes about three times a day, but from those two bands, five good songs, in a random order:

          1- California (Low)
2- Broadway [So Many People] (Low)
3- So Far I Have Not Found The Science (Soul Coughing)
          4- Fully Retractable (Soul Coughing)
          5- Sugar Free Jazz

From the pillows, also in a random order:

1- The Killing Field (Reminds me of Hendrix for some reason, which reminds me, I haven't listened to those CDs in years...)
          2- Our Halley's Comet
          3- Skeleton Liar
          4- Hybrid Rainbow
5- One Life (Again, not very rock-ish, but definitely one of my favorite songs. If I was forced to pick a favorite song, out of all the music I've ever heard, it's this.)

            Re: Rock

            1. Taking Back Sunday
            2. Johnny Truant
            3. Architects
            4. Sikth
            5. Hondo Maclean
            6. Alexisonfire
            7. Comeback kid
            8. The Academy Is...
            9. Enter Shikari
            10. xOneWayx

I don't like much commercial music because it's all quite similar. I listen to underground UK metal really, mostly bands from brighton. If you don't recognize any of the bands then you could go to Myspace and search them. If you like good quality screaming, complex riffs, immense finger-tapping and furious double bass drums then I think most of the bands will be appropriate.

My newest thing is a group called Spirit, the album is "12 Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus" from 1970. It's pretty wild.

                The Beatles
liking them is implied by being a human being and existing.

"I think, therefore I love the beetles", that sort of thing.

EDIT: Which reminds me of my friend who was a "huge beetles fan"...that was shocked when I mentioned them using drugs. I hate my friends.

                      Re: Rock

I find my likings in older rock a lot more than newer rock. Favorite bands of all time: The Doors and Pink Floyd. After them, many many other classic rock bands fall into place.

Not much for metal or hardcore though. Oh also I cannot stand emo, screamo, or any combination of genre that includes any fragment of the word 'emotional' in it.

I used to be big into punk rock, but I faded away from that as it became more and more apparent that every punk band you ever liked would end up getting plastered all over the MTV and sold out. Good punk music is harder to find these days.

                      Man I hate MTV.

I think any rock fan (hardcore or not) should appreciate all forms of it, especially the classics. Emo music isn't that bad either, imo, they could do without the "cut my wrists and black my eyes" but I think they have talent when it comes to singing, vocally that is. If only they had better lyrics.

                          But definatly respect the classics.

Lol at dragonforce. Their stuff makes alright iPod fodder, random stuff to keep your ears busy, if it was a choice between listening to that on the radio and country, I'd probably go with that... but they are really over the top.

I disagree with the statement above, people should enjoy what they like listening to (as long as it isn't rap), personally I hate emo/screamo/grunge, can tolerate metal, and good ol' rock and roll and punk/alt/whateverit'scallednow

I can stand listening to almost any genre of music though... again, except rap. Well, there are a couple Frontalot songs I don't mind, but that's more the subject matter...

I can't appreciate music that blows all of life's little problems out of proportion in the attempt to garner attention. I can't appreciate music that glorifies drugs, violence, death, feeling depressed, and being a dumbass in general.

I don't listen to many American artists and bands because of this.
