I enjoyed T3 as fanservice but I'd like to have this stricken from the record:
"There is no fate but what we make." - T2
"Oh wait yes there is." - T3
I think that girl that played River is a heck of a casting choice for a terminator. ^^ My inner 13 year old laments that the scene where she shows up naked and beats some people down will probably only ever happen once. What exactly was the explanation for why clothes could never come back from the future, anyway?

I think the Terminator universe is far too compelling for it defy its fate. Just look at all the comic books and video games it spawned. I dug up a copy of the Robocop versus Terminator comic the other day, in which the creation of Robocop leads to the creation of Skynet .
Its a fun universe to play with.
In each instance, the clothes just come off in time travel. In RvT the soldier stripped beause apparently she knew she'd end up naked in Detroit anyway.
Hmm I never liked T3.. A terminator who looks like a supermodel walking around with raygun arms? Come-on...
Really, they should have made the infiltrator type terminators look like supermodels in the first place. Give em that extra moment while all the guy soldiers are sizing them up to take the first few shots.

As a business decision it's a great idea, but it defiles the artistic integrity of the original work. T2 had this great message about humanity ultimately being the commander of its own destiny and then they essentially took all that back and made the events of T2 meaningless to make T3. Obviously I'm not upset just at the fact that they made a sequel and I can't blame them for wanting to milk a great franchise, I just wish they had done it .. differently. /shrug
As a parallel, I love Aliens, and I love the Predator, but the whole hokey scenario they made up for the AvP movie (in addition to how the predators in the movie get punked by the aliens -.- took some of the magic out of both characters. It was just market whoring.
So a Terminator TV series, taking place between T2 and T3, eh?
But wouldn't we just know how it all ends based on the beginning of T3?
Just bring on T4, I say.
Theres talk of a T-4. Just this time there will be no Arnold.
So whats the release date on this. An what channel??

Only organic material could pass through the time machine, or things enclosed in organic material. That's why the initial T-800 had the organic skin complete with blood and stuff. The T-1000, using nanotechnology, could mimic the make up of organic material, but couldn't morph into advanced weaponry of complex machinery. The T-X, or whatever the T3 bot was called, was a mix of the T-800's metallic framed inner bot with the T-1000's morphing ability. But it sacrificed the T-1000's full shape shift, nanomorphing abilities to allow it to posses firearms from the future.
As a story, I can understand where T3 fit in. It basically said that no matter how hard you fight you can change the future, but once you accept that you can fight the present. Whether or not that makes sense is totally up for debate, but that's how I saw it anyway. But I also feel is does contradict T2s message of controlling our own fates. Plus is wasn't *that* great of a movie to begin with.
As for a TV show, I can't see how it will be as popular without the actual robots involved. And since the movie continuity is the only place to find them, I don't think it will be that great. Though I will also second the rumors that a T4 is supposedly being made, without Arnold. However, and from my understanding, is that this one will be entirely of the war time era, making it a completely different type of film from the get go.
Also hear they're making a Aliens vs Predator 2...

T3 was stupid. I'm not going to count is as part of Terminator series. James Cameron > Jonathan Mostow. John Connor's character got screw so bad in T3
