D: Yea I was hoping for a new live action too. The last one many many years ago was pretty good..... or maybe I was just too young.
This one looks like a playstation game cut scene.

Well, it can't be any worse that TMNT 3 was.. and that was if you considered TMNT2 to be good. TMNT 3 was really bad, though, you could almost have forgiven them for the Vanilla Ice cameo in 2.
At least the original movie attempted to stay true to the original comics by Eastman and Laird.

Yeah, I did like 1, not so much 2 and 3 though. They just didn't seem "dark" enough as 1 was, I guess.
Anyway, this new one does look fun, so I'm going to see it.
Wow...is TMNT even popular with today's generation? I remember they made a new cartoon a couple years ago, but if I remember correctly it was cancelled.
The Movie Industry is really lacking these days, everything is remake, or based off a book, or a cartoon. Making a movie about a decade old series that isn't even popular makes it seem like they're scraping the bottom of the barrel.
I liked all 3 of the live action films... but perhaps that is because they came out while I was still pretty young. This one looks like something I'd dl and watch... not something worth paying for.

Not to necropost but...
The new TMNT that they made recently was actually a good cartoon and pretty popular on saturday mornings. They toys did pretty good too from my understanding, selling fairly decently in stores. It even got it's own sequal series/spin-off thing, but that's no where near as decent. The new series didn't touch the level of popularity that the originals did, but it's certainly one of the better cartoons as of late.
But this movie doesn't look to be anything ubar big, just something some parents will take their kids to see and some retro seekers will like to watch. I don't think this will really be competing with any of the big action or super-hero movies coming out and will probably be more popular in retrospect on DVD then in theaters upon release.
