Star Wars Poll!

I don't know about you guys, but I'm a huge Star Wars buff. I've watched all of the movies god knows how many times, read a lot of the books, and played Star Wars Galaxies prior to FFXI (let's not go there.....)

Anyways, I'm curious. Which movie is your favorite? For me, Empire Strikes Back is classic. Watched it tonight, actually. :p

I really like the impact of Luke's hand in those 2 films.... When he got his hand cut off, it looked like a HUGE turn of event with HUGE impact... and it all came back to him when he cut off Darth Vador's hand in the next film.

Not like when Anakin got his hand cut off.... it just didn't have any emotional impact at all.

I also loved the space ship battle scene in ROJ where all the gigantic ships just flew right next to each other and firing. Calamari etc VS Star Destroyers and all the small little ships fighting in between. I think it was even better than the openning of EP3.

Had to vote for Jedi, it was always my favorite growing up. Something about the green lightsaber and Luke just being a general badass in that one.
However, Empire really is the best of them all. So my secret vote goes to Empire. Just wish I could remember the surprise when you find out Vader is his father. Seems like I just grew up knowing thats the way things were.

As for why Empire Strikes Back is so good....I would owe it to Hoth, Bespin, and Han Solo. Hoth had a nice ring to it, how the rebels fought off the imperials long enough to evacuate the personnel and get the hell out.

As for Bespin, the clouds are beautifully well-done, and while Han Solo got screwed out of it, Leia and Chewie managed to escape with Luke.

As for Han Solo, he's just the most bad-ass character ever. He out-manuevered those imperials and made them look like fools.

Yeah, Han's my favorite too. For some reason Luke always came off as whiney to me.

I gotta go with "A New Hope". It was the first one I watched and what got me into the whole Star Wars series. I would have to say "Revenge of the Sith" is a close second.

Empire Strikes Back is the best in my opinion :D

A New Hope is a close second for me. Return of the Jedi and Phantom Menace were a little too.. "campy" (not sure if that's the right word). Revenge of the Sith was pretty good too, and I'm sort of indifferent on Attack of the Clones, the acting didn't impress me much.

It's a hard call between Episode 4 and 5. While I probably prefer Empire Strikes Back the most looked upon as part of the series due to too many factors to list here I would have to say A New Hope wins as a stand alone movie due to the fact it has a definitive beginning and an end and it can essentially stand up on its own if the rest of the series had never been made.

I liked Empire because of the ending. Han frozen, Luke not being able to clap, etc. It wasn't a really "feel good" ending. Of course I like the part when the Rebels got spanked on Hoth.

Empire Strikes Back by far, although the only prequel I really enjoyed was The Phantom Menace, not a very popular opinion but I have my reasons for hating Episode II and Episode III

RotJ for me, though honestly, KotOR I does come in a very close second in plot, tied with anything SW related that Zhan has touched. Everything Zhan touches turns to gold.
