WOW South Park Episode (LMAO)

I just saw the new episode of South Park, and to my surprise, it was about WoW!!!!

Basically the guys go up against an "uber" player (who in RL is a pimply, overweight, nerd) and they try to go up against him by constantly lvling weak mobs

I swear to god it was one of the funniest episodes I've seen, and strangley it reminded me not to play FFXI to much... or else I'll end up as a fat, pimply guy in RL

Anyone else who has seen this episode feel free to share your thoughts... either about the moral of the episode or how funny it was

I personally thought it was hilarious when Butters shows up in Wow with the same avatar as Cartman (or when Carman needs to go to the bathroom while playing Wow!)

Agreed. Maybe it's because I've played WoW (and obviously, FFXI), but that was hilarious.

I don't think there was really any moral to the story, it was just a funny view of how the epic adventures of our time are now contained in computer games. And how a lot of these people have no lives.

Or about the people who just give up aka the French. I personally loved the episode though. I play WoW as well(and also Lineage 2) so it was a funny reminder about why I should get outside. Makes me want a human hunter too even though i dislike alliance......

Yeah at work in the breakroom me and some guys that play Wow were watching. Breakroom kept erupting in laughter every few minutes during the episode.
The bedpan so Cartman didn't have to leave his keyboard was sooooo not right.

No moral just mental empty calories, one of many guilt pleasures that I love. It did remind me of some of the horror stories of new playing getting killed constantly by a high level character. I suppose one could stretch it to be a lesson of high level characters not picking on the lowbies though ^..^ It was enjoyable seeing the bad guy go down in this one for the finish.

I saw that last night. It was funny as hell. It also reminded me that it's not a bad thing to have a life. The bedpan part was worse than soooo not right... it was totally disgusting.

I don't think it was meant to have a moral, more to poke fun at the people who only ever sit on their butt and play all day. People who have no life other than the game.

I liked the part near the beginning where the Blizzard team was sitting around talking about it. They mentioned that there was one guy who has surpassed a level which they never thought possible. You mean? Yes, this guy has no life at all.... How do you kill that which has no life?

The Sword of 1000 Truths on a 1 Gig flash drive? So funny.

Stan's Dad as the n00b that brings the Sword of 1000 Truths to Stan? Hilarious.

Just goes to show that some people take these games too seriously.

I didn't find it as funny as many other SP episodes. A lot of the humor was based on all the WoW talk that those who don't play can't understand. Those that do play and know what they were talking about on the other hand could easily tell that a lot of what they said made no sense.

Also, they completely left out the Horde (the cool faction) and instead focused on a half naked man doing things that aren't even remotely possible in WoW. =/

That's pretty much how I felt. It was vaguely amusing, but certainly not laugh out loud funny. People who haven't played WoW felt alienated, and those who have noticed all of the factual errors.

I still Butters though. Go on with your Hello Kitty Online Adventures!

I really liked how the characters lip sync to the dialogue.
looks like they work directly with blizzard to create this episode. They got many special camera angles and character animations : /
That's kinda neat how Blizzard is so open to their fans. I don't thing anyone will ever get that level of assistant from SE when they want to create cartoons out of FFXI.
