  • Star Wars: Episode III

OMFG! First of all... I just got past from watching the movie. I went to the very first showing that I could. I waited in line for 11 hours... BUT WELL WORTH IT.

After the long wait and crammed areas while waiting... I sat down and watched the movie. First of all.... let me just say this....

FINALLY!!!! Finally Anakin is not a puss!! In Episode 1 and 2, Anakin was tried as a winey cry baby; but, in Episode 3... he brought it. My hat is off on all the fight seens... especially the duel between padawan and master! (Obi and Anakin).

The CG work on the film was great... at parts, a bit over board - but still enjoyable.

The story evolved very smoothly from the last movie to this one... although it picks up Right-In-The-Middle of the Clone Wars. There is no introduction (other than the 3 paragraphs following the title) ... just all of a sudden.... BAMM! It left me feeling a lil lost at first because you kinda had to have a new mind set. At the Final Scene in Episode 2 - Yoda says "Begun, the Clone War, has..." and then it showed the clone troopers organizing.... but no indication of what will happen next. And then here comes Episode 3 and the first thing you see is Anakin and Obi flying lil starfighters. It just didnt set it up enough with the 3 paragraphs.

And for those of you wondering and read this before you see the movie.... YES! Yoda is back and with a vengence! I wont ruin anything on it... but I can say this.... That lil dude can throw down, HARD!

On a scale from 1 - 10 (10 being the best) ... I give the new Star Wars movie a 7. It could have added more... it could have done without some of the scenes too. All in all - this film is the darkest of the entire Star Wars Saga. (Yes, when I say dark.. I mean... DARK!!!! We're talking a Jedi that kills little kids, DARK!)

Go see it! Its a HUGE must see for Star Wars fans.... This wraps it all up in a weird, dark, brutal sense that the dark side is dominant when Luke takes over the legacy and has to fight for it all back.

Just be sure to grab your popcorn and drink BEFORE the movie starts!!! You will not wanna miss anything that goes on, and its really annoying to make others move just because you need to pee during a fight scene! Damn you people! CONTROL IT!

    ~ Much Love ~

P.S.~ May the force be with you.... always.

Saw it last night as well.

I was incredibly pleased with the film. For me, it not only met the standards of quality with the original Star Wars films, there were a number of places where it surpassed them.

The first two prequels were both crap, especially when compared to Episode III. They were dull, poorly written, and the special effects were very poor. Throughout the first two prequels I can only think of one seen that wow'ed me with the same kind of feeling of exhileration and astonishment as the originals, that being the Yoda vs. Dooku fight.

Nearly every battle in Episode III is like that Yoda vs. Dooku fight for me. As I was sitting there watching scenes such as Obi Wan vs. General Grevious (who also happens to be one of the best villains in Star Wars), I felt like I was watching one of the originals more and more. That sense of astonishment had made its triumphant return to the Star Wars franchise.

Not only did the film succeed in such a quality, it also proved to be the only prequel with special effects worth noticing. Lucasarts has never been the best with CGI, in my opinion, and that certainly still shows in many parts of Episode III. Ships still look too animated and smooth. When the actor for a character is replaced by a CGI stunt model, the transition is not nearly as seamless as it should be, and stands out as badly as in the first two films. However, the film excels visually in at least three departments: Light Sabers, General Grevious, and Yoda.

The acting and dialogue was noticeably better in this one. Hayden Christensen no longer acts like a stump of wood (for the most part.) The dialogue writing for the entire film is much more believable but, as most would expect, Anakin and Padme's scenes together are cheesy as can be.

    "You look...so...beautiful."
"Only because I'm so in love."
    "No, because...I'm so...in love...with you."

Although I hate to say it, my beloved Natalie Portman has her share of bad scenes in this one.

I was really excited about Star Wars Episode III from the very beginning. I knew that it would stand out among the three prequels, but I didn't expect it to be so far ahead in terms of quality when compared to the first two. This is how it should have been in 1999. Star Wars Episode I should have captured our hearts like Episode III has, and like the originals did.

Personally, I give Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith a 9 out of 10. I absolutely loved it, and aside from the continuingly cheesy dialogue between Padme and Anakin, the somtimes-poor CGI special effects, and the somewhat rushed ending (which I won't say anything else about, even though everyone knows what happens.), I thought it was not only the best prequel, but one of the best Star Wars films in general.

P.S., if you have kids who enjoy Star Wars and are pretty young, consider watching the film first before taking them to see it. Episode III is the very first Star Wars film to receive a PG-13 reason, and it's for a number of very good reasons. Although the originals were already pretty violent for PG-rated films (the severed arm in Episode IV scared the hell out of me when I was little), Episode III contains much more violent scenes, especially with the deaths of so many characters.

lol well I'm glad to hear good reviews. I'm a huge Star Wars fan but for some reason I can't bring myself to go see it yet(due to crowds). I'll probably wait till next week, even though I'm sure lines will still be huge. Thanks for not spoiling any story for the rest of us also, I was hesitant to click on this thread at first

Yeah, saw it yesterday too. Had the tickets to it pre-ordered for like the past month. I agree though the start does throw you off on were the story is at, silly as it is I was able to get into it quickly from watching "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" that was on Cartoon Network (It actually covered most of the section that the movie left out, including that General guy). It also explains better of why the consol acts the way they do to anakin.

In a way I kind of had the feeling that Episode III's make had that cartoon series played on Cartoon Network in mind with it. The cartoon series explained a lot of the gaps of what was occuring in the story.

Anyway with that said aside for a little confusion that can occur on the story in the begining mostly and slightly at other parts (Other parts the movie does it in such a way that I don't think many people would even bother to question it). I really liked it, it is definatly very dark.
