I enjoy every genre of music that I know of so far. I was wondering if some of you out there could recommend some good bands. I don't like all the mainstream stuff, its all gimmicks and one band tends to be exactly like the other bands.
Like rap, I really like rap, but I don't want to hear about the stereotypical rap stuff, like sex, cars, shoes, you know.
Aslo like country music. I don't listen to the stuff on the radio. I like the old stuff. It seems like people singing now go out of their way to have as much of a southern accent in what they sing as they can. If you are really singing, people listening won't hear the accent as much as if you were talking. The same for british bands, you don't really really notice the accent until they talk. Mainly listening to blugrass, really love it.
Basically any type of music bands that you can recommend well be greatly appreciated. Any genre is welcome. I just want something that has more meaningful lyrics than what is on the radios.
I'll name a some music that I like, in no specific order.
Allison Kraus
Incubus (their older stuff, don't like the new stuff)
A Perfect Circle (old stuff good, new cd i don't care for)
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
Louis Armstrong
Frank Sinatra
Smashing Pumkins (haven't heard all their cd's yet)
Cowboy Bebop Original Soundtrack
Berserk OST
Hellsing OST
FF music
Radiohead (don't have much of their music as well)
Modest Mouse (they are really different, have some jazz in them)
White Stripes (wish they had a bassist, Jack reminds me of Robert Plant. They have an older style)
Samurai X OST
Bob Marley
The Cure (like what I have heard)
Norah Jones (beautiful voice)
Many other bands, just can't think of em
