Final Fantasy VI is the most ecclectic game of the lot, so I think it would make the most enjoyable movie-going experience.

Square isn't going to make another movie for a long long time...if ever.
They make alot more money sticking to games than making movies. They lost 180 million on The Spirits Within.
I couldn't care less if they make another movie, if they are going to make another Spirits Within that is.
Just give me more awesome games with tons of FMVs.

Sure, we all know that, but that's not what this poll is about. We just want to know WHAT game you would like to see as a movie, wether square will make one, or not. And the reason why they lost so much on SW, is because it isn't an adventure/fantasy (rpg like) movie. Everybody was expecting that, but got a sci-fi movie with aliens and guns in it. I liked it though, but my 10 bucks for a movie ticket wasn't enough to make up for the huge loss
Me? I'm alpha and omega, the very first and very last...the beginning and the end...

TSW
ok to all the people that dont like the spirits within cause its not like FF
think about it though what does FF have
Believable character . yup TSW has that
An enemy that could destroy the World , yup got that too
Romance , thats in there
An undying hope , yup thats definatley there
And belief/religion , yup thats the spirits
these are the building blocks to any Fantasy , they make FF what it is , so stop whining about no magic and start enjoying the feel of the film
thats my 2 gil

Don't try and make the movie something it was not, it hardly even deserved the name of Final Fantasy. It was a generic sci-fi movie, that's it...in fact, the story was so cliche' that I've seen almost the exact same story in about 100 other Sci-fi movies. The only difference was that it was fully 3D and had something about gaia...big whoop. Unfortunately, those 2 things are not good enough to compete with the games.
The movie sunk because the general public just thought it was eye candy with a bad storyline, and the fans were severely dissapointed.
I would have not hated the storyline if they didn't kill all the cool characters off. My favorite characters in the movie were the black guy(cuz he was just awesome) and the main "evil" guy with the cool black leather trenchcoat. They made all the characters so black and white and cliche' too!
On one side you have the wonderful enviromentalist that would probably save a squirrel over a baby if the chance came up.
On the other side you have the crazy army-corporate man that is stupid because he doesn't hug trees and therefore they make him act so unrealistically stupid.(I mean cmon, he woulda gave her a chance to use her "spirit" at the end of the movie before firing that gun...that was BS).
OK....[/rant over]

k, i see what ur sayin bob, but TSW was not, like, what i feel FANTASY is... sure, it has all the things you said, but it was too... hmm, i dont know how to put this... too realistic i suppose... what i feel makes a fantasy, feel fantasy-ish, would be to have fantastic elements. like, magic as you said, and just, a fantasy-like setting. I just wasnt feelin the vibe from TSW, it seemed more like a Starship Troopers kinda movie :spin:
EDIT : Sorry, it took me a long time to post, cuz i was busy with somethin else :spin: but, ur right Tifa~Chipmunk~

I voted for 8. Two reasons, in my opinion:
1) easiest to make into a feasable, understandable, coherent screenplay;
2) most likey to be successful, not just for the above reason, but because the theme - love - is easier for a western audience to identfy with and appreciate. Also, they take the theme to a much deeper level than any Hollywood film. In FF8, love is about more than romance (ala Squall and Rinoa, and Laguna, Raine, and Julia), it's about love as it's expressed in its many different ways: sacrifice (Edea), puppy love (Quisits), love of parents and identity (Zell), fiendships (Selphie), camradare (Seifer and his "posse"), fraternal and protective (Ellone and Laguna, and Ellone and Squall).
Just my two gil...

'Course we won't make fun! It's ALL good!
I agree, FF7 would be an interesting movie, but I think they'd hafta... fiddle with a lot of parts of the plot... to make it work, and help it make sense in the places where it looses a bit of coherence...
Bottom line, I think most directors would want to fiddle with it to the point where it would be LESS true to the original story than a screenplay for FF8 would be...
Oh, and I'm sure I won't be the first to make this friendly suggestion, but I can't resist: you should really try FF7! I think you'll like it!!

I liked FF:TSW...I guess people either hated it or liked it depending on what expectations people had of the movie before seeing it.For me,the thing I most love about the FF series is that there is NOTHING on them that is sacred or irreplaceable. There is no dogmatic element that cannot be changed or fiddled with.To put it plainly,Square TAKE RISKS.Heck, even FFX-2 has had HUGE changes and is shocking everyone who played FFX,either for good or for bad.I think Square takes the games it produces far less seriously and as less of a religious institution than most of it's fans.I went to see the movie with the expectation that it would be totally different from the games, with a totally believable and coherent world setting(as all FF games have)and the movie fulfilled my expectations.I'm not saying the story is perfect, but I was satisfied, and did not regret spending money to see it.
And don't forget Animatrix:Final Flight of the Osiris!!It looks like it's gonna be great!I regret the fact that square will not do more movies.I think with 2 or 3 more movies, they would start mastering the craft of creating them and we would start seeing better stories and better cg movies. If a movie from a game had to be made,i guess i'd choose X,although i'd much prefer one with a totally original storyline, that wasn't based on any game.
