Reminds me alittle of Kikaider. That preview had some really nice filming though.

Perhaps this can answer some of your questions:

This awesome looking movie is not just influenced by anime but it's actually based on an anime. A quite old one in fact from the 1970s.

This next link is kinda long, but you can get to see what the anime character actually looked like:

I can't wait to see it! all i gotta say, is that they better release it in the u.s. on dvd with english subtitles at least. I dont care if they don't dub it, I just wanna be able to watch it.

That looks so cool! I hope they put english subtitles and release it here in the US. I wouldn't like them dubbing it, seeing as how Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon came out with english dubbing (after it was released with subtitles) and I couldn't stand listening to it and seeing the speaking not fit the mouthing. It looks really good though. I think I saw this topic on another forum...I'll have to check.

Oh god! please for the love of god say it isn't so!!

Well, the movie industries in japan, and the u.s. know about the hype and buzz that this movie is generating in the states, and that people wanna see it, and there is talks of getting a stateside theatre release...but here's the catch...

Instead of just releasing the japanese version, hollywood wants to make an american version, just like they did with The Ring! Ugh! The Ring I could understand, the special effects weren't that great, and the acting wasn't exactly perfect in the japanese version, but this movie Casshern, looks like it has everything already perfect with it! It's gotten great reviews, we just wanna see the real deal, and not some hollywood rehash.

I really can't remember details, but according to what I read, casshern has the visuals and quality of a movie made in hollywood that would cost hollywood maybe..$100 million to make. Get this though, Casshern only costed $6-8 million in japan! I mean, why the hell waste the money on a remake. I had this debate with my brother though, and there a bunch of morons out there who are racist, and think because it'd be an all asian cast that no one would wanna see it. He didn't friggin have an answer for me though when I said to him "What about croutching tiger, hidden dragon?"

Anyway, this just frustrates me...I'm tired of hollywood and it's greed as it is. I wanna just see the real deal, not a new movie, made by people in hollywood who can't make up ideas of their own, steal another country's idea, and take it as their own. *Coughdisneycough*

"no matter where you go you are what you are playa
and you can try to change but that's just the top layer
man...you was who you was when you got here"

I just thought it might interest people that Dreamworks has acquired the domestic release rights to Casshern. So we'll be seeing it in the states sooner or later.

I myself downloaded and watched the movie, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. If you're able to, and you use BitTorrent, check it out. I highly recommend it.
