The Last Samurai

Is anyone gonna see The Last Samurai with Tom Cruise? I think it looks really good if you ask me. If you don't know what it's about I'll explain. (this is what I heard and may not be true) Tom Cruise is an American Civil War hero or something and the japanese want someone to raise a standing army against the "last samurai." but Tom Cruise gets captured and taught the ways of the samurai and ends up feeling for them and joining them. Fighting for the Samurai's cause. It looks like a pretty good movie. I think it comes out this Friday. I'm deffinetly gonna try to see it. You should too!

Yeah, it sounds like a book I read, 'The Last Mandarin'... With a few obvious differences.

I haven't checked if they're even remotely related, but the movie looks good none-the-less.

plus i think tom cruise is a pretty convincing actor so it might be good
i think its based on an old mini series from the late 70's if anyone remembers "Samurai", the premise for that mini series and the movie seem just alike
so is that book "the last mandarin" like the person said before

if you go to the website www.lastsamurai.com the director says where he got the inspiration for the movie and all that. It's pretty interesting actually. ^^

I saw it last night. Wow that movie was truly made me awe struck. I got the same feeling when I saw Braveheart.. It just had that emotion that really got to you. As for Tom Cruise as the main role. They seriously couldn't have picked a better person. He fit the character so well. Well I absolutely loved the movie. Probably one of the best I've seen since , Gladiator and Braveheart.

The action was amazing , nice fight. Had tons of blood , but not to the extreme that your like.. " Oh ya that looks real". It had some humor in it , which was nice balance to the movie. But more over the main theme of the movie was up-holding Honor. Which I think gives a real nice message to all to see it. It kind of opens your eyes a bit you know?

Overall this move is a 10/10. Defintely shined some light on the old culture of Japan. Made me wanna make a Samurai in FFXI now. Which I just got hehe.
