Valve’s Source engine to power upcoming animated film | Ars Technica
This opens up all sorts of possibilities ... if the movie is successful. I posted here, in the computer section, but maybe it should go in the gaming section as it relates to the recent discussion about SE's game engine debut at E3. If game engines become powerful enough to facilitate low budget CG rendering for Hollywood, then it just opens the door wide open for visually appealing indie games or even aiding major studios and developers (taking a load off their budget for animation/CG or even enhancing it)
