oh ya I checked off some stuff, but forgot what its called. It isn't msconfig, mew. It's something else.

Maybe it's 3 or more letters, but it open special window that lists everything to opens on autostart, and you can do stuff like start, stop and pause files from starting and stuff. Any idea what it is, mew?

oh ya, how do I turn on Automatic Updates?

Automatic update should be a security setting.

There's only two major places in Windows that you can change how things start.

MSCONFIG takes care of startup tasks.

The other is Services, which lets you micromanage what services run in the background.

Also: What version operating system? XP/Vista/7? Note that Services is integrated into MSCONFIG in Windows 7.

msconfig startup tab?

Or maybe Services in the Microsoft management console (mmc > add snap-in, forget the other way to get to it at the moment).
