Re: My next Aquos display.
Awesome. Now our games can lag even more :D
In all seriousness though, they'd have to make a fucking huge TV for you to appreciate the difference between that and 1080p from a decent viewing distance. And of course video of that resolution would require ludicrous amounts of space. It's cool to see done, but I'm not sure this is very practical.

Re: My next Aquos display.
I don't think most people have the room in their house to sit an appropriate distance away from such a large HDTV. I've got a friend that went and bought a 60"+ set for Halo 3(lol), and I actually have to turn my head to scan the screen for bad guys when playing multiplayer BFBC2, Blops, etc. My PC is hooked up to a 23.5" monitor and I couldn't be happier.

Re: My next Aquos display.
That is why they sell different sizes of displays. Just because it's Super HD doesn't automatically mean it's only going to be sold in 60"+ versions.
Not to mention the display in the video is a prototype, not the comercial model.
But wait, we should be talking about the HMZ-T1 instead, that thing is probably going to cost around 500 bucks when it finally hits the States. And if it works really well in Japan we may even get the 1080p version instead of the first gen.
I'm just waiting for info on response freq for both audio and video (audio should be at least 96khz or I'm going to be pissed) to see if it's really as good as it looks.sigpic

Re: My next Aquos display.
I'm not sure how comfortable I'd be wearing something over my eyes, like that. Plus, I can see this getting a lot more gamers killed by their own laziness. Now there's no pocket of real life between them and the screen, there'll be zero real life co-mingling with their gaming.

Re: My next Aquos display.
They are supposed to be very light (420g), and I'm very ok with having no contact with the outside world.
Heck, just thinking about playing a game like Skyrim in 3D while wearing this is enough to make me want to forget about the real for good.Last edited by Raydeus; 09-03-2011, 09:55 AM.sigpic
