That's quite the budget you have. I can't say I'm not jealous. Don't forget the OS, and perhaps fans better than what the case comes with, and a decent cooler for your CPU, since it's six-core and has more potentnial to run hot.

well the ram is overkill but if you have the money why not. ditch the 2 of thos hdd and get 2 SSD on a raid and you are good, the sound card its a little too much.

You could also drop the case for something cheaper, with just as much potential for circulation, and the power supply probably doesn't NEED to be 1000w, although it wouldn't hurt if you plan to OC. Around 800w seems like it would be fine.

since you are paying 550 for a 5870. Just pay that 100 extra and get a 5970 instead, you won't be disappointed since AMD next generation's highest tier won't even beat the 5970 @ its game. Assuming the rumors are good to go.

              GPU
Keep in mind that unless you have a Display that natively accepts DisplayPort connections, to Eyefinity more than 2 together you will need a converter that retimes the signal. These converters are called "Active Displayport". Being as how Monitors that accept DisplayPort are $700+, you might want to investigate this unless you have a couple of those said monitors laying around. [ame=http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002ISVI3U/ref=oss_product]Amazon.com: Accell UltraAV B087B-002B DisplayPort/DVI-D Dual-Link Adapter (Black): Electronics[/ame]

So even with 6 Display Port connections, if you simply get DisplayPort > HDMI or DisplayPort > DVI, you'll still need the adapter unless you are plugging it DIRECTLY INTO a DisplayPort

Therefore, I recommend you choose a different card. The 5970 is nice cause it's a dual GPU configuration on one PCI-E slot, and it's essentially two 5870s (to my knowledge) clocked at the speeds of two 5850s. It drinks less juice than 5870 in CFX, but one thing I HATE about stock Radeon configurations is that the fans just stink. I had an HIS 5870 (loved it!) but damn, it was super loud. I love the fact that it pushes air out the back of the case as opposed to the card I replaced it with, which pushes air down.

              MSI Lightning
              Newegg.com - MSI R5870 Lightning II Radeon HD 5870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

Even with manual fan control at 100%, it's not as loud as my HIS 5870. Seems like you want to future proof this for the next few years, so I'll suggest looking into a 5870 (which is still pretty fawkin awesome) and CFXin when the time comes.

Well the FFXIV benchmark proves it. This thing's power level is over 9000.
