  • Some help with SuSe Linux please?

Hello, I am doing a computing assignment on different backup utilities available. The task is asking me to use and show prints screens of these utilities. Now, i know of the one in Windows XP, but the task is asking for one from SuSe Linux.

Seeing as i cant install or run that, would anyone mind taking a few screen dumps of that utility and saying how it works?

I cant get any information like that as i have no access to a Linux system.
If anyone can provide me with a few screen dumps that would be great. if not, thanks anyway.

You can install things to USB drives, google "Live USB". It is somewhat of a PITA, though, and older computers won't support it.

Ok, i had managed to get SuSe linux live CD burned. (borrowd a mates computer). Loaded it all up and it all seams to work. The only problem is i have no idea how to work this backup program. I wanted to backup my memory stick to the hard drive, but then ran into a problem. My hard drive does not display. Would i beable to back up the "os" from the CD to my memorystick?

Linux confuses the hell out of me.

I would suggest an action called reading of material called manuals.

Linux HOWTO's and all sorts of other Docs can be found at the Linux Documentation Project: The Linux Documentation Project

Just remember when using it that your tutor's know about the LDP too.

RTFM is definitely a good idea; google is also a great place to look. Your questions are simple enough that there should be tons of guides out there. Googling "install from LiveCD" should get you off to a good start.
