Stupid linksys router

I have this bad Linksys router(model wrt54g ver 8) and it really hates my PS3 unong other issues that are really getting on my nerves! I get lots of DNS errors with it and it's getting worse. To fix it I tried what Sony and the dumb Linksys people told me but then after I did that I had no connection on my PS3 at all.(so I swapped it back to ye old automatic with DNS errors!)

This leaves me constanly cursing this thing! MY question is simple...Can any of you reccomend a better router? I have the following connected to my DSL through the current one:

2 Nintendo Wii systems(my brother moved home and broght his with him)
2 wired PCs
1 laptop on wireless
1 Wireless PC
1 Nintendo DS (off and on)
1 Playstation 3 (wireless)
1. Playstation 2 (wireless through a bridge on and off)

I have DSL though Bellsouth (recently bought by AT&T) and I think my modem is a Westell Wirespeed 2100(I'm not at home and my memory is fuzzy)

Hey, I had that router, it was pretty good. It's probably your settings, but I wouldn't know what to check. Personally, I put DD-WRT :: News on it, it might be a little bit tricky or over your head, but if you feel comfortable doing it it's a great firmware replacement. If you're planning on getting a new router anyway, you might as well try it; best case scenario, it works like a charm, you just saved yourself enough cash to go buy a new game or something. Worst case scenario, you brick it, you go to the store and buy a new router anyway.

I have that same Linksys router and it works awesome for me, I keep recommending it to others. x.x

You do have a lot on one router. I think I can't help with your problem any further though.

I'm guessing it could be issues with IP addressing, if its set to DCHP on the router's page, try changing it to a static and on each device set a different number at the last slot - 192.168.1.1(routers/default gateway/dns server)
192.168.1.x where x is a different number for each device.

Or just change it to DHCP and make sure all the devices are set to obtain IP address and DNS server address automatically.

Unless that was the stuff they told you to do, then I haven't a clue w/o details =x

I Linksys it always works and never fails for me, even on the damn Wii. The only time it doesn't work is when my cat unpluggs it from playing with the cords lol.

Linksys, NetGear, and Belkin routers last about a year at our house and then fizzle out. We got a D-Link gaming router about 2 years ago and its still going strong and I am SO happy! We really put routers to the test here though with so many computers and gaming consoles in the house. If you don't have any luck with the suggestions above, try checking into D-Link gaming routers.
