I keep getting this windows error that has something to do with IP conflict. It doesn't have a number and when I click on it, it goes away. Something along the the lines of another IP is conflicting or something. I have a crappy memory so I don't remember what it says exactly. Any idea what this is?

Re: Windows error
Exactly what it sounds like, it thinks 2 systems are sharing the same IP.

Re: Windows error
Well I have a router and my wife's comp is wired to that. If 2 systems are sharing an IP address, could this be bad?

Re: Windows error

You would have to start by finding what the current IPs are. Your router probably keeps a DHCP client table, look at that. Also from a command prompt ipconfig will show you what that systems IP's currently are, so you'd have to check them was well.

Re: Windows error
You have to open a command prompt first.
Start > Run > CMD
Type ipconfig there.

Now once I do this, what do I need to be looking for? I know what my IP address is now but how do I know if another comp is using it? Everything works fine, this error message pops up now and again. This happened on my work comp but I never really did anything about it.
