So yeah, confirmed by the AP now. This on top of the fact that today they sent out a tech that actually had to *hunt and peck* to fucking type anything in and I'm now convinced they have absolutely no idea what the fuck they're doing.

I swear, it almost seems like the dial up providers offer better service nowadays. I could very well see myself going back to DSL if I can't find a good broadband provider.

Im useing comcast and its utterly crap im crashing every 3-7 min apart and it makes it almost impossible to play any online game and latelyit has just pissed me off so i find better things to focus my time one...but bak to main subject Comcast has really gone to crap it used to be good but its just not worth the 40 dallors a month for this crap you call service....and blocking Bittorrent should be illeagal!!!it wouldnt be as bad if they just blocked the other ones but bittorrent is leagal and has been proven that yet they still block it STUPID COMCAST!!!

Interesting. My internet has been crashing at random times since Sunday, nowhere near as often as that, but still. I was thinking it was my router, but it's looking less and less like that.

Who has proven that a widely used program to illegally pirate software and download porn is legal? Link or it didn't happen.

Hmmm. That blows for filesharers. Back at my old place, I remember specifically choosing Comcast because they didn't block ports/limit bandwidth or otherwise dick with my filesharing. As with anything, effective measures can change. There's bound to be some people on the net that now how to circumvent/implement a fix.

Someone more tech savvy please correct me if I'm wrong here, but isn't what Comcast is doing here "packet injection"?

Exactly. You could ban lighters, but that would stop people from being able to make food on the grill or find their way in darkness. The pyros would just find another way to start fires.

Since everybody can do anything even when somebody else does some other stuff this thread is kind of pointless.

Besides, people shouldn't be downloading stuff off the internet because they're worthless shits who don't deserve it and are in some way contributing to the detriment of our society.

With you dropping your connection every so often you need to call it and get a trouble call b/c you are having signal issues with your chsi (Comcast High Speed Internet). I currently work at Comcast and signal issues arnt uncommon but they are simple fixes by sending someone out to fix them. Amberly: As I mentioned in the original post, I did have a tech come look at it. He didn't know shit, the same with pretty much everyone who works at comcast. Not saying you are personally, but I don't think I've seen comcast do anything intelligent in years.

Our techs suck. Plain and simple. Ask for a multipule repeat t/c and a actual in house tech. That will get you one of OUR Comcast techs that usually know what the hell they are doing, instead of one of our shitty independent contractors. BTW, about doing something new, we just tested out a 160 Meg internet in Vegas about 5 mopnths ago and should be slowly getting it out after we lay some new fiberoptic cables in the main cities. What state do you live in btw?
