  • PS3 linux

I'm not sure this belongs here but here's my deal:

Since there's a slight lack of games for a few months and I have no easy PC access I'm thing of well..turing my PS3 into a makeshift PC by getting the yellow dog linux for PS3 disks/downloading them. I can still get it to boot the PS3 OS for games but having something like a full media player and a better browser apeals to me(I tried the PS3 browser...I think despite it's flaws...well WII opera is better...myabe if someone compiled it right I'd have firefox on PS3 linux...)

Is this a good idea? I'm already eyeing a 250 Gig HDD to swap in once I get more cash

I don't see how its a good idea or a bad idea. It is an idea though.
I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

Personally, I'd recommend Ubuntu, simply because it's more popular and has better support than other distros, and it made to be easy to use, but you should be fine.

At worst, you spend a dollar on CD-Rs you don't get back. Oh well :p
