  • Windows Mail and Microsoft Outlook

Is there a reason I have to use both of these email programs at the same time to compensate for everything Outlook Express could do on its own? Microsoft Outlook is uglier than sin itself, and can not send mail from any kind of email account. Microsoft Mail does not support HTTP email accounts and for some reason avoids displaying my Inbox for my IMAP account.

Has anybody else had these problems? I was told I could use my Hotmail/Live account on Windows Mail if I upgraded to Hotmail Plus, but there's no option for that. I have to check my mail with Outlook, then load up Windows Mail just to reply with my IMAP account, or load up my browser for the HTTP accounts.

It's all way too much of a hassle than it needs to be. I'm about to attempt transfering Outlook Express to Vista to see what I can do with it.

Well, my reply isn't going to help you either, Dak, I feel the same though. I'm currently testing things out myself, so i might be able to have a more useful answer here. Untill then all I can say is: Try Mozilla Thunderbird?

Even though it's an HTTP email, they should still have an STMP and a POP address to get the mail to. Try looking around in the options, or just have it forwarded to your main account and put into a folder.

Oh by the way, about Hotmail. I know for a fact it's not possible to use pop3 forwarding, having a @live or @hotmail account, unless you have "Hotmail Plus." That used to be different a long time ago, I hate it too.

Edit: But what can you say.. it's microsoft, right?

Such as your own e-mail adress from your provider.

not in my case. Comcast mail sucks ass. My two main email accounts are gmail. The only other ones are archaic, and checked about once a month.

I use other aspects of Outlook, so sending my gmail there was just one less thing I had to remember to check.
