  • how do I block advertising text hi-lights?

    Well when I visit various sites, a lot of words will get double underline which, when moving my mouse over, opens a little box which labels as "intellitxt" ads....
    I tried to disable it on its site, but it keeps coming back. Very annoying -_-;
    How do I block this thing completely?
    There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
    but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence
    transform a yellow spot into the sun.

    If you're using Firefox and Adblock you can block *intellitxt* which will do the job.

      Firefox+Adblock is the win combo, just be sure to also use a filterset.

      I seriously never see any ads nowadays, except in email, but gmail filters spam extremely well.

        ug.
        I blocked with adblock, and a new one keep showing up. I blocked like 4 of them now and current one doesn't show where it's coming from D:
        It gives me double underline under certain words and links to random merchandise website.
        Any idea?

          The usual brute force approach is to disable JavaScript. The caveat is that a number of sites do not work properly without JavaScript (FWIW, ffxiclopedia is fine w/o JS, somepage also works okay, ffxiah will not work without it, and most forums also need it).

          If you get this stuff without JS, it's probably something that's been installed on your system. Check the list of browser plugins.
