Doing some broswing and thinking today, I wondered, is it possible to install a Mac OS X on a pc using AMD 2800+ considering its using a type of 'x86' though not the same due to liscensing, but reconized by the OS's as the same. If this is entirely true would installing a Mac OS X Tiger (and possible upgrading to Leopard) work on a computer using AMD 2800+ cpu?

    Re: Osx & Amd 2800+

Installing OS X on anything other then branded Apple hardware is against the EULA. Secondly, Macs do not use a BIOS and will not understand your motherboard without alteration to some core portions of the OS. Thirdly, I believe the only purchasable versions of Tiger are not Universal Applications as Intel Macs already ship with Tiger and the only Macs that might need it are PPC machines.

Since something that is against a products EULA is technically illegal, I won't talk about if or how you could go about doing what your asking.
I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

Its really against the EULA? Wow, thanks for the info. Well, if anything then, I should be at least able to get a Mac and set it for duo boot for Tiger and XP correct? Also, since I've rarely installed an MS system since I had upgraded to XP(8 times before XP from 95, 98, NT4.0, 2k), would XP become unusable from going from a different machine? Mainly due to different processors and hardware it is a high chance I assume. And with liscening I should be safe long as I give up use of XP of my current if/when I make the jump.
