Startup problem

My PC is a f**king piece of crap or is at least now. Never had problems with it before except it over heating but that was my fault. Just set up a rank 7 PT for me and a friend, had web pages in the back ground and music on. (Dont know if this is relevant or not) and it just restarted by itself out of the blue. It starts up ok untill it reached the Windows XP screen with the loading bar thats blue then it shut down. Thought ok its over heated again. Left it 5mins, tried starting it up. Gets to the safe mode screen and Im using USB keyboard so can only do Start Windows Normaly, gets to loading screen and this time just restarts. Got mums keyboard which has the PS/2 adapter on it so I can try starting in safe mode, same again. I tried all 3 forms of safe mode and last know good configuration and every time it just restarts at the loading screen or after it does that file check thing when you start safemode. I've left it for over an hour in case for some weird reason it was heat related but its still doing it. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas what could be wrong as the pc guy usually takes 3 weeks here and theres no one else to go too cause of where my parents house is located o.O Really dont want to pay him £40 either if its something simple I could fix. Maybe I just need a new PC again Thanks for any help!

Got someone to fix it but I was wondering if someone could tell me the exact file path to the Folder you need to copy so when you reinstal FFXI you can skip the updates. Would be great for this soon as Im taking PC in in the next 2hours. Thanks.

The entire (root):/Program Files/PlayOnline folder, as much in size as a DL DVD, if you want to skip the downloads of the updates. But you still need to go through the file check process which will take some time, while it's a lot faster than going through the whole update process.

You may be able to recover everything back to the original state by backing up the registry, but I never bothered doing this so I wouldn't know.

K cool, I just ended up asking him to copy the whole folder neway as no one replied before I had to go :D Glad I did now tho hehe. No idea about what hes doing but I think he might just be reinstalling windows after he gets my stuff outa the hard drive.
