          Sure you dont want this?
But I would post the system specks and see if any one has been able to play FFXI with a laptop that slow.

Notebooks and laptops are outrageously expensive, so you'll probably have some trouble finding anything within a reasonable price range. There's always Ebay if you don't mind taking a risk from time to time. You're best bet would be to find something sub par, and fix it up enough to run what you're looking for, no doubt the pieces are always less expensive than their assembled outcome.

Sometimes I can walk into a computer shop or store, and find an older model relatively cheap that I can spruce up. Their hard drives are usually nice, and they just need a little more RAM, a WiFi connection, and a graphics card.

Relatively cheap and will most likely run FFXI.

              Re: Tiny Laptops?

I'm not afraid to use eBay, I have a friend who tricked out his car almost entirely with parts from eBay, my mother bought a motorcycle off eBay, and an uncle bought all his electronics from it while he was living in germany (USAF)

http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=2544 I was reading this, but it doesn't sound like it could support a 3D game. Although, if I turn FFXI down extremely low, it might be able to (since FFXI is weaksauce on low settings)

Look at the MSI notebooks on newegg then, they seem to be your best bet.
That ATI chipset is a X300 I think, basically its crap but atleast you will not have to run emulation like with the Intel's.

Well, if you can't get cheap, you can get durable to make your investment last through a longer time.

But I don't know if it will run FFXI, always wanted to find out.

The new line of Apple notebooks can dual-boot with OSX and windows, or run OSX and windows parallel. I'm not sure that anyone's tried to run FFXI on them, though I can bet the specs are good enough.

FFXI does not require a gaming machine. Photoshop does not require a gaming machine.
To an extent, it does. Photoshop doesn't require intensive 3D graphics.

Eh, the computer i'm using now is nearly 3 years old, and it wasn't top of the line then, and the only thing that's changed about it was outside devices (routers, modems, keyboards and mice), and reinstalling windows a few times.

                          It's not really powerful.

I've thought about Viaos, but Sony products and I have a history of not working too well. I'm amazed my PS2 hasn't needed repairs yet.
