In our house there are two FFXI players, one PS2 and one Toshiba Satellite M-55 Laptop. Now I've decided that my brother would keep the PS2 when I move to college... which is in two months. So I wanted to install FFXI into this laptop, but I was smart and downloaded the Benchmark Test from www.squarenation.com first. But there's a problem, the benchmark won't run.
I spent five hours downloading it and it's very frustrating to not even get a score.
My problem:
Everytime I run it I get this Error:
Error = 2001 in the blue headline box.
Within the box it says "HardwareTnL" and a bunch of gibberish afterwards.
I did some research on Video Chips also. Buying a chip wouldn't be too much of a problem, it's just that I can't find one that seems to fit into my laptop and according to many sources "Once the Laptop is put together, there's not much chance of getting any new hardware into it."
I even called Toshiba and was outsourced to India... I think... and was told that there was nothing I could do about installing a new chip. BUT the guy told me about downloading an Intel chipset family. Well, I did and apparently I have 3D Graphics, but the Benchmark still won't run.
I think that it may just be that I'm missing the proper hardware, but if there's any way I can get around this annoyance it would be great.
Thank you for your time.
P.S I read alot of the threads and still nothing tha could solve my problem.
