I'm going to give you some honest advice (and it's quite blunt):

Are you technically inclined? Are you able to follow directions? Are you good at applying ideas when things don't follow the example exactly? Are you good with terms? If something goes wrong, are you more inclined to panic or calm down and figure things out? If you answer no to any of the above, then I would recommend you not try to upgrade your computer yourself. Take it to a shop or buy a new prebuilt one.

If you can answer yes to some/all of those then take a complete read through this: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/How_To_Build_A_Computer and then decide if you can still do it.

There is a wealth of information on the internet. Since you obviously have access to it, then www.google.com is a good place to start. Just go there and put something in like Installing A Graphics Card. You'll probably find good walkthroughs with pictures even.
